under the future playoff selection rules, who

  • would be the top 4 this year? they won't be considering the polls and they will give priority for record and conference champions.

ND and Bama seem easy. Per RealTime RPI, Florida and Oregon are in the top 4. KSU and Stanford are the next highest conference champs in RPI.

So ND vs KSU and Bama vs UF in the semis?

Mesario, the AD at MTSU was on an SI panel with 11 other AD's to see who would make it this year and he said it would be Bama, ND, Oregon, and K. State. I think Fla. should be considered but who am I? No matter how many teams in a playoff, someone will feel entitled and get "left out" per that panel.

  • As much as I hated the BCS, it was good enough to figure out the top 4-8 teams or whatever playoff was necessary. I'd just roll with that personally, now a selection committee will open up more corruption and bs imo.

figured those 2 would be the debate. I gave it to UF because they hadn't played Bama (no rematch issue) and have the higher computer rank and RPI. Oregon gives you a 4th conference in the mix.

A taste of what's to come I guess.

  • Top 4 would probably be Alabama, ND, Florida, and the Thoroughbreds
