Yes. Bud Foster recently said publicly that he thinks that Nicholas will re-join the team for Fall practice.
My guess is that they will either plea-bargain the charges down to something below a felony or Nicholas will be granted deferred adjudication, meaning that if he stays out of trouble, eventually the D.A. will drop the charges. This is what happened with Darius Monroe a few years ago, and he made the most of his second chance.
Under the terms of the CAP, it takes a felony conviction to permanently separate someone from the program. As long as there is no conviction, the player can remain on the team.
