Not just directing this at you but at the board in general, and this is the latest comment I saw dealing with it so I felt the need to say something ...
The bashing and snide comments about Corwin Cutler has gotten beyond ridiculous. It needs to stop. The kid is, by any way you look at it, having a hell of a year. I understand why you would question in this particular case a UVA recruit being mentioned in the thread but the comments about him being 8th string or whatever, which statements of the like seem to be popular on the board nowadays, really need to stop. Recruits should never be bashed, just as players shouldn't. In this case, it does absolutely no one, especially Virginia Tech, any good to continually bash a player that is A. Eventually going to be facing Tech. B. Related to top prospects. And C. Close friends with top prospects.
Off my soapbox, carry on.

spoken like a true hall monitor
FWIW, Evan, CZY, and I have all posted significant performances by non commits in this thread since the very first week, with absolutely zero comments like yours.
Interesting, that no one had a problem until Cutler has a great day. Its that simple.
I enjoy discovering how the VT commits performed, as well as other kids I know from the 757, including non committed and potential targets of VT without offers. Ive been doing this for years now, for my enjoyment. Significant and 5 TD performances in one half are always noteworthy. That has been the intent and content of this thread since its initiation, title not withstanding. I wonder why you tolerated this behavior by posters to this thread until now, Mr Monitor.
It seems that some people just like to be negative about everything, and that is when they become sticklers of thread titles and make shallow comments as you have. . Ill keep what I learn to myself, since it has seemed to cause you such consternation.
Good grief.

As I stated previously, I dont confuse my desire to see Bucky succeed with his shortcomings as a pocket passer, especially in comparison with Corwin.
Being a 757 coach and long time supporter of football in the beach, I also have pride in how well Corwin does, as I do for just about every VA kid. Im loyal like that.
Being O&M to the bone, no one wants to see Bucky outshine Corwin more than I do.
But I dont let my desire and hopes cloud my judgement regarding my assessment of these two talents.
Bucky is a manbeast. A kid this size with this kind of running ability is truly rare. His upside potential is just that, potential until its nurtured and polished. His passing game needs help.
Cutler, is a fairly polished pro style passer already. He has tremendous field vision, a very quick release, very quick decision making, and throws darts. He is one of those guys that has something you cant coach.
He needs to beef up, hit the weights, and not much else is badly deficient. He has a better windup, throw stride, and decision making than LT. LT often winds up in a circle, bringing the football down, instead of up.
Remember, all I did in this thread was to post his stats, because they were epic, and i would have posted them no matter who had them. Just happened to be Cutler.
And yes, Im taking my ball home, because the fun/grief ratio here when trying to help and post some stats, isnt worth it. Coming here for me should be a happy experience, especially since Im paying for it. Being continually the butt of jokes, as yours above, kinda sends me a message, that Im not a frat kid anymore, and I really dont need to accept it either.

I don't pull for any UVA player, I hope everyone of them sucks. I hope they get a degree, and do not suffer injuries, but as for football production, I hope every last UVA athlete is horrendously bad on the field.

Deon Newsome went 7 of 9 passing for 116 yards and 3 TDs. Also had 88 yards rushing. I know he caught a pass as well, not sure the yardage though.
I know Williams had 1 TD run, not sure of his totals for the night. He was picking up good yards every time he touched the ball thats for sure.
Season stats so far (7 games): Rushing: Williams - 780 yards; Newsome - 668 yards Passing: Newsome - 650 yards

Cmon maaaan! Dont let the panzies/crybabies push you around. Man up! I feel stats involving VA HS players, even if they are dommitted elsewhwer, apply to VT in a way. Just keep it coming. Dont let the people who disslike what u post have a greater impact on your person than the people who like what you post.
