Questions about the site and Thursday Nights

  • 1) How long will JC Shurburtt be involved in HokieScoop? Is he just here to help promote and get things going or will he be a regular poster a year from now?

    2) What kind of information is posted in the Thursday Night event? I'm not asking for specific information. I just want to know if this is a summary of the week in recruiting/VT football, is it new info, exclusive video, etc?

    3) What are the moderators doing/planning to do when members get out of control? I've noticed the vibe on here is pretty positive (which is different than most sites), but honeymoons are usually fun and exciting. If people get out of line will they be warned/banned/tolerated?

    4) Who are the guys/gals affiliated directly with the site? Basically, I just want to know who has some skin in the game and will be here in 6 months/6 years. Hate to join and then see the insiders check out before fall practice.

    CZY - you guys can pull this if the board isn't the appropriate forum. I'm just a guest and looking to get a better feel for the site before possibly joining.

    A follow-on question. One of the things I really like about HH is the 600-600 commit text messages. Are there plans for something similar here?

    Yes, I am here for the long haul. It's basically my third job, along with running national recruiting for 247Sports and our South Carolina site, TheBigSpur.com.

    These guys- CZYHOKIE and HokieScoopStaff do too good of a job for me to pass up an opportunity to work with them. I have always thought Virginia Tech was an under-served market.

    I also will tell you that the number of articles on our site will increase as time goes on. Right now, we are focusing on building the community and providing scoop here on the boards to our members. In the coming months, though, there will be more articles and the like.

    To add to what Staff and JC said,the Terror Dome is also interactive. We basically answer all your questions for about an hour plus. Also as far as the mod question,we just simply arent going to let a bunch of BS go on here. We want everyone to be able to voice their opinion,we want honesty,but we want to act like adults about it. Simply put we will put in the time to keep things cleaned up on the board. Fan,coach,player bashing helps no one. And thank you for giving us a look!! Be sure to tune in Thursday night.
