Yeah, just realized this. They will have to be down to 50 scholarship players to sign 15. You are correct josgood. This is a much bigger hit than 40.

Per Big 10: No conference championship for PSU over the next 4 years, and no bowl revenue. The bowl revenue will instead be donated to charities.

Seems like it would be cheaper for Penn St. if they would just not play football for the next 3 or 4 years.

Agree...but I would think they could be sued for that by many in the community that depend on PSU football for revenues, they also likely have many contracts going forward

The B1G "fine" is huge as that revenue would have paid the vast majority of their $60MM to the NCAA.

Not sure why the B!G would have even thought to pay PSU their share of the Bowl revenue when they have no shot at earning any of it.
I thought they could have done more...Swofford would have, unless it was UNC of course

Yep. A lot of people aren't picking up on this yet, but the scholarship reductions are the real killer.

Their smartest move would be to bring in as many guys as they can this January to count them towards last year. Getting guys to be able to do that is a different story.

that is the best move for them.....in their case they will have to drop down a notch or two in terms of quality players but really the only way for them to potentially survive this.....
