I live 10 minutes from Statesville. I went to West Iredell one of Statesville's biggest rivals and I don't know what to think about this. Statesville is known for thugs and is not normally in a positive light around here. That being said I trust the coaches and don't know Carlis personally but I will get around to watching him this fall now to see what the fuss is all about.

Going back to my time covering Statesville in late '90s for the Record & Landmark, I think it was more of a case of the Greyhounds having trouble getting kids to qualify.
Welcome, Hardcore. That's REALLY close to my neck of the woods, and got to know a lot of good people at West Iredell when I worked there.

I said it earlier today, but his film reminds me of MV1. Closest thing I've seen to him with the football in his hands. The play at 8:46 made me laugh like when I watch MV1 make a fool of defenders.
Needless to say, I'm super pumped about this kid's potential.
