First two are likely if they have great seasons but Gayle is in the same "tweener" area that Chris Ellis was in when he left in 2007. At 250 pounds right now, he would have to move to outside linebacker in a 3-4. He's not big enough to be a defensive end and with his speed, most teams would want him on the outside. If anything, that could keep him around an extra year just to see if he can get back up to 265 pounds so he would at least have a shot at playing DE in a 4-3 after his senior year.
Was thinking the same on Gayle. Dude will be a freak for the Hokies, but definitely a tweener in the NFL, which doesn't lend itself to early entry. Fuller will be very good, not in the elite category in which you think early entry. Fuller could be in that elite category after his senior year
Thomas is really an unknown. So-so year, and kind of doubtful. 4,000 yards, 35 tds. 5 picks, and a BCS win, and much more likely. REally no way to even speculate until he is well into the 2012 season.
Going into the season my money would be on them staying. All three will play in the NFL,but i dont think they are in a rush to get there either. Lo knows he has to have a huge year,and the same with Gayle and Fuler. Now dont get me wrong if they have 1st or 2nd round money staring them in the face they may very well go. But right now,my money is on them staying.
