The Tunnel

So my wife and I were in Blacksburg yesterday, riding down McCoy towards the New River Junction. We were looking at a house back there. It was a nice day and we decided to take our 3 dogs along for the ride. We have a pit bull mix and two jack russell terriers, all fantastic dogs.

Well one of our jack russells, Scooter, is a fat little turd who does some crazy sh*t from time to time. So I'm about 2 miles down McCoy when my wife starts screaming bloody-freaking-murder. I manage to keep the car on the road and look up to see him flying out the back window of our car while I'm making a soft left turn around a curve. He just decided it was a good time to take a leap and see how it ended up, I reckon. I was going about 35 MPH. He bounces off a driveway and rolls into a ditch.

Keep in mind there are a few vehicles behind me, including a work truck directly behind me who was luckily paying attention and slammed on his brakes. My wife jumps out of the still-moving car in tears, sprints back and scoops him up. He's only got one cut on his leg from the road rash and he was a little scared, but other than that he was good to go. One of the craziest things I've ever witnessed, and that was my Sunday.
