I think the voting system on 247 is lame and I am proposing a down vote (red arrow) rule for VTScoop. If you down vote someone, man-up and tell them why you down voted them.
I was reading the thread Jordan C created and saw he was down voted for asking a question from an observation. He didn't bash the board, he just asked a question and stated an observation. These are unjustified down votes in my opinion. If you can click an arrow (red or green) then you should be able to chime in with your opinion (pro or con). Just my two cents..

Listen fellas, up and down voting aside, it is really all about proper posting decision. We can call this the PPD.
Back about 8 or 9 years ago, a guy named Will Stewart made a post, about posting, that had a pretty profound affect on my posting decisions. The basis was this:
When you type out a post, before you hit the submit button, go back and re-read it and think to yourself "Does this really matter? Does it say anything substantive?" If the answer is a no or even a maybe, you're probably better off deleting it and hitting the back button on your browser.
I have thought about that every time I have posted something at great length ever since then. It is probably the reason I hardly ever post after a loss (My post against Newsome last weekend notwithstanding) I can't tell you how many times I have written out a post, sometimes paragraphs long and then deleted it. Because me being a whiny b*tch doesn't add anything to the board. It just causes conflict, which takes away from the board.
The guys at 247 deserve some respect for creating an atmosphere that is conducive towards Hokie Harmony, but it's up to the posters to hold back some and cut out some of the BS before it even gets put up.
Bingo. How many times you write a post, get distracted, come back and think, why in the hell was I posting that crap? You guys should see the crap I didn't post.
I try to do that with work e-mails. Some times I fail. My most recent was to the effect of "Not just no, but hell no. My ass should be waterboarded for letting you pull this crap for this long." It was effective though.
