No it's not a bad idea if people do it respectfully and professionally. Our leaders already appear to operate under the assumption that all "good" Hokies are completely happy with the ACC. After all it is everything we always wanted, right?
I say we let them know there is a significant portion of the fanbase that is not happy with the TV contract, not happy with BBall centered approach, not happy with Swaffod and not happy with Tobacco Road. We are not happy at being out maneuvered by the B12 and we are interested in the SEC and their incoming SEC network. To date ACC membership has not led to AAU status and I have seen nothing to indicate that it is forthcoming anytime soon. We can compete at the highest level in the SEC and we would become the undisputed dominant recruiting force in VA as soon as we attach the SEC brand to the VT brand. With coach Beamer approaching retirment age the VT job would be much more attractive with SEC money flowing in.
So yes, let our leaders know that these are issue we expect them to give a full analysis and serious consideration toward. They need to understand that we are not all just blinded by three letters, ACC. The more they state their loyalty to the conference before stating loyalty to VT just increases fan anxiety. Look at the statement put out by the BOT from Clemson (founding member of ACC) if you want a template of what I am looking for our of our leadership.
