LT gets HUGE reviews after working with Whitfield

  • I know that there was some disagreement on what to expect regarding the draft potential with LT. LT seems to have cemented himself early in top QB talk. I was floored that I read EJ Manuel's name mentioned in the article.coffee

  • haha yes I saw that as well. EJ has had a very Harrison Barnes type career. Flashes of brilliance but nothing too exciting week in and week out

  • Yea, EJ has no business being that high. JMO.

Here is the link for those who havent read yet. Great article. We're lucky to have this kid leading our team. It would be VERY tough to find 2 better back to back leaders for a football team (Tyrod & LT3).

  • Seems to me with Tyrod in the NFL and LT getting all of these reviews that we shouldnt have any issues pulling QBs going forward. CMO'C has done a great job with these guys.

Cant imagine Bucky or any of the current QB recruits not wanting to play at VT

  • I would absolutely love for him to have a great year this year, announce he's staying, and set up for a summer of extreme hype for the opener against Bama in 2013. Getting a bit ahead of myself, but that would be EPIC!!

  • EJ Manuel... bwahahahaha

Top two NFL QB's going into next year are Barkley and Jones. The issue I have with Barkley is that his WR corps right now is better than atleast over 50% of NFL teams. Tough to expect better results when you have a drop-off in talent between college and the NFL.

  • Can't believe people are that high on Manuel as a pro! He seems like a worse version of Tavaris Jackson. FSU will be ranked in the top 5 in the preseason like always and slowly fade away. Their game against Clemson should be a good one though

Wasn't he hurt most of last year?

Barkley is the real deal, regardless of how talented his wr's are. Kids a stud, no dabo

i agree. i watched him a few times and he's really good. i like luck too, but sometimes i feel like his delivery is a little slower than Barkley's...but both are top notch.

His OL was awful last year and 2 of our 4 losses were games he didn't start

The kid can play, he is a good kid and will certainly play in the NFL

    Better than Ponder for sure

Last year his best RB, WR, and TE were all true freshman as well due to injuries all over including losing his LT and best OL on the team as well

EJ had two losses last year, a UVA game where he sucked for sure and OU ( a game he didn't even play all of )

So really he had one loss as a starter in his first full year as a starter behind one of the worst OL's in america

If he was VT's QB you all would defend him to no end about how good he is or will be

You can't believe it cause you know nothing about him other than banter on the internet

Fisher has also had every QB drafted since his days at Auburn, a streak of around 12 QB's in the last 15 years or so

EJ isn't breaking that streak at 6'4" 240

Kid has NFL written all over him

Watch him play more than highlights and a play here and there and you would clearly see how much talent he has

You know what is really funny, in 3 and a half more games Logan only managed one more TD pass on the season...... in 3 and a half more games

  • Oh yeah and

    Logan's rating was 135.5

    EJ's was 151.2

Oh and EJ clearly played the tougher schedule

Weird right ? I guess Logan is so much better though, you know.... cause he just is right ?

Both are a great players, but laughing at EJ just proves how clueless some of you are on matters outside of blacksburg

  • EJ has done about as I expected since HS. He is very smart, a solid citizen, natural leader, and has a lot of tools, and I think he has played pretty well from what I've seen. But I don't think he has lived up to the hype given on the recruiting trail. This will be a big year for him to show what he's got, if he has it.

Totally agree, but it all comes down to blocking for the poor kid

Most don't even understand how bad it got along the OL for us

Joe Montana would have looked like a bum at FSU last year, true story

I would take Logan over EJ if I had a solid QB coach like Jimbo or whoever, but really I could live with either one

They are almost the same guy Logan is just bigger and a better runner ( better arm too )

EJ will have plenty of weapons this season so no more excuses, unless Rick's unit falls apart again

I would agree with this, and I have no problem whatsoever with Manuel. Always rooted for the kid...

  • i dont think anyone is saying he isn't good. he just was severely over hyped, still is actually, and hasn't really taken off, poor OL play or not.

i hope he plays better for the conferences sake but jury is def still out

Ya and Weeden and Keenum had better stats than Luck and RGIII. You don't mention that having a RB like DW means you run the ball, a lot. In the preseason last year FSU's strengths were supposed to be oline and dline with EJ taking them to the NC.
