I expected Clemson to win big. Because of two things.

1) We don't have the talent to keep up with Clemson. Our recruiting misses from 2008-2010 have been devastating. Shane Beamer is a major upgrade but we still have MAJOR dead weight on the staff. We basically playing down two or three coaches. It's amazing the classes we get with mainly because of Shane Beamer.

2) The offensive coaches aka Newsome and O'Cain need to go. You see the regression at their postions and there are coaches WAITING to coach these positions. I disagree with many on this board because I think Thomas is one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever come to Virginia Tech. But the lack of talent around him coupled with the poor coaching brings him down.

Until we recruit like the "big boys" we wont have the depth to compete, this being said I think this season will be enough to spur change and If it doesn't Beamers case will always remain empty.
