With the way this season has went, it's easy to forget that we got some super talented kids from the 2012 class that redshirted, and one hell of an incoming class for 2013. We have never come close to putting together two classes like this in a row.

  • still concerned about the offensive line and WRs.

  • And all ahead of UVA's best recruit ✊, Smoke

  • Smoke is very overrated.Like Perry Jones is Superman overrated He is fast and that's it. Clifton Richardson is twice the player Smoke is and UVA can't even get him going.

  • We need some mega-blocs on the OL.

Pfaff and Osterloh are a great start and Chung may turn out to develop into something good there. With his Dad to coach him up on the tips and tricks of blocking, I'm confident that he'll have a good foundation in which to improve upon.

With Conte coming on and perhaps starting next year at RT or LT and Farris at C - with Benedict at G... We are still paper thin in depth. I hope that Acree's progress will allow him to get into the game next year. Also, if McCray can block his ass off and be the pass catching threat that we've been lacking, I'm encouraged that our run game can improve. Wang (was he healthy) need not see the field again until he's strong enough to dish out some punishment. He looked like he was on a bad wheel out there.

That said - getting a couple of late adds as pref walk ons from Hargrave or FUMA - even grayshirts if not full blown offers etc...

Brendan Vechery (6'6 305) is a big kid who needs to work on his feet. Was a starter all season for Hargrave and could definitely be a road grader type at Guard. Another Hargrave product is Dion Dawkins (6'5 300) who was also a season long starter and has only one offer from Liberty. Both of these guys can play ball - just need continued good coaching on how to develop.

Jonathan McLaughlin is a guy that we looked at last year - 6'4 288 and can play a little bit. Would need an offer to land him.

Here's an interesting one... Mitch Kirsch. Committed to JMU in the class of 2012. 6'5 280. Anyone follow me here???

Last one. Victor Tamba class of 2013. 6'5 320 - a hulk, but with a little baby fat still. Strong, bulky. Will move his opponent out of the way, but is weak against a speed rush of a violent defender. Needs technique - but has the foundation to improve.

The first three, already have a year of development on them - and with no penalty against their eligibility. A year older, wiser, bigger, stronger and more experienced.

Kirsch was on the JMU squad this year, but could come in as a transfer without having to sit a year. Plus - he redshirted this year - giving him all 4 years to go.

  • gibson and shuman need to be in the mix next year. I think you pencil miller back at C unless he is better at G then Ferris. Acree/Conte/Gibson/Shuman/Arkema/Wang fighting for the tackle or guard spots left and hopefully Benedict will have one of the OG spots locked up.

You mean if VT hires the JMU OL coach(former VT player). :)

  • We need to get a fire breathing dragon who understands how to coach the o line. We can do a very good job with the talent we have and have coming. I feel more excited about the o line possibilities then I have in many years.

  • we need a coach that can recognize oline talent before their senior year(still can't tell me painter couldn't have played somewhere on the line even if it wasn't at tackle before this year. he was damn good this year to have just "had the light come on"

Someone posted last week that McLaughlin is now something like 6-7 305 at prep school.

I really like Farris at center and Miller at Guard. Miller just needs to seek and destroy. Farris did great for no more playing time he had in the beginning of the season. he pretty much stepped in at the middle and had to run 'till the end.
