looks like they are loving this whole FSU thing b/c they are quietly continuing discussions behind the scenes while FSU looks like they crazy one. And they are saying the plan is for FSU and Clem to come to BigXII to make a crushing blow to ACC, then get in on possibly GT and VT. So worst case scenario we are courted by SEC and BigXII. not a bad spot and FSU and Clem are the bad guys, we are ultimately doing what we have to do.
Anyway, seems confidence is high from Clemson front, you hearing same or different?
thanks,

I spent time today with a very good source for this type information. There have been 4 ACC schools in contact with the Big 12 this week. One name surprised me quite a bit and that name was VT. I was told FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech and VT have all spoken with the Big 12. No one is close to joining the BIG 12 at this moment but there is some very interesting talks happening. FSU has went farther than anyone else. There are a lot of rumors out there but my source is very close to the wheels that turn and I believe 100% what I was told. I would not be surprised if FSU does leave the ACC. Keep your eyes on what happens the next 3 or 4 weeks with the ACC & Big 12 meetings. My hopes are that the SEC will get edgy and move on us. Time will tell.

I don't get it, we're willing to talk to the Big12 but not the SEC? That makes no sense. You want to talk about traveling costs and not to mention much less academically, oh and subbing UNC for Texas as far as which school the conference revolves around. I really do have zero faith in our administration after reading this.

ahokiesayswhat, I'm sure we would listen to anyone. In this day and time you cannot afford not to. There's a big difference in talking and joining. As I posted above, no one is close to joining the Big 12. But there is a lot of conversations going on and I'm sure quite a few we never hear about. The main thing is that conferences do want to talk to us. So that means we probably have options if push comes to shove. It will all work out.

UT fan here, so I'm sure you'll think I'm biased, but honestly the UT runs the Big 12 talk is garbage. Yes we carry a lot of clout due to our importance to the conference, but we only have one vote. And with the GOR being signed over, we can't leave even if we wanted to.
Nebraska can say they left because of us, but in reality there were 2 reasons. They knew Missouri coveted a Big 10 invite due to unbalanced revenue (which Nebraska voted for and benefited from). This made Nebraska worry about the conferences stability. Their other concern was that the Texas SCHOOLS were running the conference. CC games were being moved to Dallas and the Big 12 office moved to Dallas. All the schools voted for this and were in favor of it until Nebraska needed a scape goat.
Colorado thought they were going to the Pac with UT, OU, OSU, A&M, and TT. Once it was rumored that Baylor had to be included in the deal they decided to beat everyone to the punch and leave before they could be left out of the deal. They weren't running from UT.
A&M got penis envy over the Longhorn Network that we asked them to join in on, but they were too stupid to believe networks would pay for it. Then they decide to use us as a reason to leave when we received $15 million from ESPN. Before that they voted for and benefited from the uneven revenue split, but still used that as a reason to leave.
Missouri wanted to leave for a number of reasons. The main reasons were conference stability, and unequal revenue splits. When we agreed to equal revenue for Tier 1 and 2 and created stability with the WVU and TCU additions, they used us as a scape goat since it worked for Nebraska and A&M. Truth is they wanted to leave for a while and actually started the whole realignment mess with their desire to join the Big 10.
UT hasn't been perfect in all of this, but they aren't the villain they've been made out to be. Hopefully FSU, Clemson, and VT will be added to the Big 12 and you can find out first hand.

I think the orange influence in the Big 12 is similar to the blue influence in the ACC. On paper, it all looks fair and square, but in reality, it isn't.
I want VT in a viable football conference no matter who is in the driver's seat. But I'd prefer one where the power is at least somewhat balanced.

No, delusional is thinking A&M will be competitive in the SEC.
Your statements about t-shirt fans seems like jealousy. Too bad people don't like A&M enough to go purchase a t-shirt when they didn't go there. But, for the record I did attend UT. To bad you couldn't't qualify and do the same.
