I just heard from my source. About 1 hour ago the Big 12 voted unanimously to "unofficially" offer Clemson. So now the ball is in FSU and Clemsons court. Also of note, Notre Dame has an open invitation. That means if FSU and Clemson accept and then ND comes on board, they would be looking for one more. Stay tuned and keep your eyes and ears open after the new playoff format is settled. My sources say that is likely when "unofficial" things become official.

Wouldn't they be looking for more?
I saw the following graphic the other day and it sure seemed to make a lot of sense - if - in fact they go to the pod structure.
POD 1: ND, Iowa State, WVU and either Pitt or Louisville. (Pitt has had a historical series with ND for years - give them the nod) POD 2: Kansas State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma POD 3: Texas, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Baylor POD 4: GT, Clemson, FSU, Miami
I could see leaving Miami out even and picking both Pitt and Louisville and moving WVU to Pod 4.
No matter how the Big12 would cut it, the 4 regional Pods (rivalries) would seem to be the best fit.
It would also kill the ACC and certainly leave us with the ability to get the hellouttadodge.
