I just find it sleezy that we enact a $50m exit fee, yet have no issues ripping teams out of other conferences.
I'm no lawyer and don't know the contracts, but MD simply leaving seems like that's enough for the not "viable" argument. They are leaving because of money, and Swofford fell behind other conferences in his TV decisions. It seems like there are plenty of outs, a charter school just left, why do we need another domino? Is MD leaving not a domino?
I want VT to leave now, but have no issues if we/others are waiting on how the $50m transpires. I just don't want us waiting around on Swofford or the dreaded "The ACC has potential" or "If these teams become good". Look at the foundation, only a few schools are committed to football. Commitment is what creates sustainable success, not a Chapel Hill guy that helped facilitate "The Carolina Way". Can't trust a basketball oriented guy first if my priority is football. If the VT administration doesn't care about football, just tell me. Football is what helped your academics, it wasn't basketball and it wasn't the ACC.
Georgetown, really? Isn't this the exact opposite of what the big least did. I'll bet it will have the same results.
Watering down a conference to appease any school is a stupid thing to do.
Swofford is so desperate that he is now willing to listen to the dictates of ND.
Short term stupidity will only expedite long term destruction.

If the ACC has even half-decent lawyers, which I assume they do, they won't settle.
Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
