I guess Tyrod won't starting for the ravens anytime soon. That sucks...

Ravens, Joe Flacco agree to terms on new contract - CBSSports.com

Joe Flacco is getting paid like a top-five quarterback. CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman and Jason La Canfora report the Ravens and Flacco have agreed to terms. Freeman confirms Flacco will sign the contract on Monday, and the quarterback's average annual salary could end up in the $19.5 million range.

Very stupid. Flacco is by far the most overrated qb in the league. Take away some lucky throws that were completed because the db's completely and utterly screwed up and he would have had pedestrian numbers in the playoffs. I wouldn't care since this will take up all of the Ravens money, but it sucks because now there is a new standard of contracts that more QBs in the league will try to command.

Flacco is not overrated. He was smart enough and good enough to win the SB. He also won the salary contest for the year so somebody else who should know a little bit about the game thinks he's good. Every qb has good passes dropped and bad passes caught. He had a hell of a good year.

well the man is 28 years old with a cannon... In about 4 years he could be the face of the NFL. One of my observations with some of the NFL QBs it takes them 5 years or so to get going... Both Peyton and Eli were good QB's not elite their first few years. Drew Brees throws 30 TD every year now and couldnt his first 5 years... Hell Brees could hardly make the playoffs his first 5 seasons. Of course Tom Brady was good early but my point is Flacco could be the best NFL QB in the next few years so this contract may actually be good.
