Expansion: What's the VT take on this?

I just jumped on board with Clemson 247Sports last week for new content outside our recruiting. I thought I would come by and see what you guys think about this expansion talk? What's your take on the stability of the ACC?

If Clemson and FSU leave...we leave. That's pretty much how I see it, and I hope we are in the SEC, so leave. Don't get me wrong, I'd love the ACC to add ND and be a viable conference, but it doesn't appear to be in the cards

Please tell your guys at Clemson to leave the ACC, so we have an excuse to get out of this garbage conference. Hope we land in the SEC to play big boy football.

I think the big12 has their unofficial vote today and will decide wheather or not to let clemson in and then we will see what happens.
I think Florida St and Clemson are making a bad move buy if it gets VT to the SEC then I am all for it.

FWIW, the guys really pushing the rumors are still saying FSU and Clemson are goners. Big12 taking unofficial votes this morning to hypothetically accept Clemson and FSU even though they have not officially applied. I too think Clemson and FSU could be making a mistake but it would even be more stupid to officially make a decision until final playoff format is decided.

Don't forget that they are officially changing commissioners in a couple of weeks and the playoff format (conference champs, top 4, or some combo) will be decided in the next few months. It would be wise for everyone to stay put until those major events occur. Plus, the SEC is seriously mulling whether or not to move to a 9 game conference schedule; rumblings are that ESPN is pushing them in that direction. Literally millions of dollars and the best path to a championship are being decided right now, so I don't blame everybody for the wait-and-see approach. At this point, nobody of significance will move conferences until 2014-15 season, anyway, so there is no immediate rush.

I think, if you want to hand the top recruits in the State of SC to USC & UGA, then by all means, move. I think Clemson fans over value the Big 12 & what it would mean for your program. Good luck selling kids in SC, GA, FL, & NC on playing in Austin, Lubbock, OK City, Norman, etc when tour primary recruiting competition will be selling them on playing almost all their games in their home regions. Clemson Football would die on the vine in the Big-12. I hope that's worth an extra 2-3 million a year. Other than that, by all means, go so we have the excuse we need to jump to the SEC.
