what's different is the attitude at HH had gone stale a while back.....and it is not like this place will be immune to it, but Brian let the insults, bickering, BS threads linger....at most he locked them, and you could still read.
The interaction between the mods seems to be the biggest difference at this point.
HH was long overdue for a WarRoom feature....I asked for something like that a few days before signing up here, with no response.
His latest new feature was letting someone write a terrible article about fedshirt freshman which offered nothing to anyone who read it.
I don;t know Brian, never met him, will likely never meet anyone on here....He seemed like a good enough guy, but when your product gets stale, you lack creative new ideas, AND you lose your major inside info source........well, what is left?
not to mention recruiting rankings do matter....no matter what we are told...it is all about perception. VT was not getting a fair shake on their recruits here, that will now change.
UVA for instance touted their recruiting class and ranking based solely on this site, no Rivals...other recruits read, here, etc all this....We needed an influence here and we now have one.
I don't see the need to be "loyal" in this instance....this is not a personal thing, this is a service industry...i will go where i am getting the best service.

I never posted on the other board. Finding myselft posting here much more frequently. The reason I switched and am letting my sub expire next year is because of CZYHOKIE. I am going wherever he is going... Damn it, I sound like a stalker.

Ill tell you guys a funny story. I was at Poor Billys last year having dinner with a few friends and the wife,had been there a while had a great time,great food as always. Well the bill came and the waitress said,"Sir the man that (was) at the bar took care of your bill" I said "no ma'am there must be a mistake". She said he told me to "tell CZYHOKIE i appreciate what he does for guys like me". First off i was shocked beyond belief,then when i saw the other 5 peoples eyes at my table,including my wife wondering what the hell the guy was talking about...it was priceless. So if one of you reading is that guy at the bar,thanks i owe you one.

I don't understand the difference to be honest. People are flipping over themselves to sign up for this board, but all this stuff was on Rivals not more than a couple weeks ago. What is so debilitating about Rivals that requires another board? You all say its refreshing and how its like early TCB. In the end its still all the same people. So what really is different?

just because this one's been called fan friendly doesn't mean TOS is the polar opposite--may mean it's not as fan friendly.
my take, (besides it's pretty and the emoticons are sweet): - i like how the fellas asked for input: what we want the board to be called, what features we'd like to see, etc. even if they take the suggestions and promptly place them in File 13, they at least asked, and imo that makes it really feel like our board rather than just saying it. - the interactions with jc/scoop/czy in nearly every thread--they're down here with us rather than some talking head floating at the top of the board somewhere that doesn't participate in threads unless a.) they start it, b.) their name is in the title, or c.) they directly involve a recruit. also, here, you ask a question, it's answered within the hour - i've never seen these come out and say, or even allude, that they have a story and they're sitting on it for now, unlike TOS. - . features like the terrordome and ask a guru (haha) are absolutely great. also, having jc contribute in such a big way--mike farrell doesn't do that.
the mods here have really created a positive environment with a ton of potential, and have made me feel welcome as a poster. TOS, i didn't feel unwelcome...
this is what got me.... im a very loyal guy and don't like to flaunt a better product in one's face (brian)
but this is just a better product. more consumer friendly, you get a 360 view of recruiting and whats going on....
