  • What is going on with Nick Acree ?

    Are you still after John O'Korn from STA at QB, and do you feel confident in landing him ? fyi he is my favorite QB out of Florida this year, I was hoping we take him but it seems like QB might be a pass this season after taking two last year

    Also who, if anybody would you guys say has the best chance at Kendall Fuller if he was going to pull the shocker and not go with VT ? I know he is as close as a lock as you get but was just wondering

    Acree is a weight lifter, not a football player.

    Doubtful on the QB. Our sights are set on 2 instate kids (Hodges & Cutler) and 1 in NC (Parker).

  • Acree from what some have said on here cares more about Bodybuilding than he does playing football.

    Kendall Fuller, If he does not come to VT will not play in the ACC imo.. Probably Bama

    I think we will take 2 QBs (Hodges and Jennings/Cutler)

    I would say Clemson if Fuller doesn't come to VT

  • There was talk of Fuller committing this summer... But now some are saying at the All-star game.. obviously the earlier the better for VT.

    freaking Clemson no they are very annoying in recruiting

    Why a kid from maryland would be so high on them is certainly a mystery but when you see all those kids of theirs with stacks of money it makes a bit more sense

  • I think some comments may have come off as being a little harsh towards Acree. He is a VERY good kid and very respectful. He wants to be good. He is just not a natural football player. He is trying to learn to be an OT, but he has a ways to go. He is a very good weight lifter and strong as an ox.

    As far as Clemson goes, no one understands their "national" appeal. They do have some female lookers down there for sure, so there is that. Most tend to think that it is two things; one, Dabo is a very good salesman and would have been a millionaire a 150 years ago during the snakeoil boom; two, Clemson is very SEC like in how their alumni are very organized and, ahem, "help" in the recruiting scenario.

    I take it you have never seen the pictures, Clemson pays players large sums of cash money

    Lots of schools do but they aren't shy about it at all

    Rule one in the shady recruiting game is always use cash

    Harder to follow the paper trail and in most cases is impossible

    Im sure it was looked into but unless you see the exchange its hard to prove where the cash came from

    lol yeah and Im not above saying FSU likely does something

    I do think the school and program sell itself as well but nothing would surprise me at FSU, I have seen enough to know Bowden certainly broke some rules and Jimbo is a product of him and Saban so Im sure he has a trick or two up his sleeve as well

    But recruiting will always be easy at FSU cause of location and facilities first and foremost

    You only have to " cheat " for a few kids a year and Jimbo stays away from those types of kids more than Bowden did for sure
