For me it would be David Terrell, that dude was just flat out amazing. He was also dominant in Basketball.
I would've said Percy, but I only saw him play once, and saw Terrell multiple times.
Thomas Jones or Heath Miller, both were a cut above their competition, Heath was just a beast.
THE ONLY THING I'M ADDICTED TO IS WINNING--CHARLIE SHEEN
Thomas and Julius Jones. Like watching men among boys.
James Farrior from Matoaca. Was huge and pretty much the fastest player on the field.
Diggs/Fuller at Good Counsel or Darnell Dockett.
I'll give a top 3 of:
1. Percy Harvin Landstown VB
2. Deangelo Hall Deep Creek Chesapeake
3. Eric Sievers W-L Arlington
All 3 were dominant players on the HS level, but of the 3, I was only sure of Hall as a lock to the NFL.
Everybody has to believe in something ... I believe I’ll have another drink. - W.C. Fields
@beercontrol ... a know-nothing
I could have added DJ DiNardo in a top 4, depending on how you define the question. The guy barely sees the field at VT, I know, but he was truly a dominant player in HS, and against good competition. KO returns for TD's, punt returns for TD's, blocked kick return TD, 2 point conversions, QB running and passing TDs, DB interception return TD's...the guy never left the field, and excelled everywhere.
Yeah, I'm a fan
Great thread starter, 5284
Football: Tebow...though I thought James Wilson was the more dominant player on that team at the HS level.
Basketball: Richard Washington...allegedly the last player Wooden left the state of Cal to recruit
Football - Ronald Curry, hands down
Basketball - Timmy Smith
Todd Daggs, 1984/1985 RB, Bristol Tennessee High School Vikings
Todd Daggs Football highlights from Tennessee High School in 1984. Tennessee high is located in Bristol, Tennessee. Home of the stone castle and the vikings....
Chris Leak, crazy good!
For me it's a tie between Danny Davis from Rustburg in the late 80's and my next door neighbor Brandon Minor from Varina.
Anthony Poindexter for me. Played against him, Yubrenelle Isabelle, Beasley, Houseright and others that played college/NFL...but he was the best.
Curry/Iverson no question
Allen Pinkett - Park View Sterling. 1980 AA Virginia state championship. The longest run against Giles in the previous 13 games was 14 yards. Pinkett went 76 yards on his first carry. He ran for 234 yards and scored all 32 points for Park View Sterling. Of course Giles won 33-32.
To add, on the hardwood I played against Darius/Shane Nichols & Terrell Dobbins so those games weren't to friendly for us. I believe all 3 went to college and I forget which Nichols brother went to WVU and was pretty successful but yea not some of my fondest memories.
Dairus went to WVU. Shane went to a smaller school then transferred to another school. I played against them in summer camps and pickup basketball.
AP was good, Danny Davis was the most dominant HS player I've ever scene though...period. He rushed for like 500 yards a game (j/k) but dude was rediculous. AP had plenty of help on the field (spinner, Jennings, etc).
Mickey Rogers, Sidney Snell, or Curt Warner.
