whoa...I also went to Lake Braddock and O'Connell! When did you graduate?
Lake Braddock - I would also add Hubert Davis...fond memories watching him. Also Ed Moses who was an Olympic gold medal winning swimmer.
Bishop O'Connell - I would have to say Eric Metcalf or UNC's Kendall Marshall.
W.T. Woodson - Tommy Amaker or Andy Heck
Giles High School----Mike Williams, pitched in the Majors and for VT!!!!
Also Brandon Manning-PSU, Carson Ward-UVA, Cody J-VT.
THE ONLY THING I'M ADDICTED TO IS WINNING--CHARLIE SHEEN
But Justin Spring Graduated in 2002 and grew up across the street from me. Kid was beast and won the Bronze Medal in Gymnastics. in the last Summer games. Now Head M. Gymnastics Coach at U of Illinios (hes 27)
hard to beat Mia Hamm, Allen Johnson, and Hubert Davis though.
David Robinson went my my Elementary school(just saying)
Bethel High Allen Iverson, Todd Kelly
I'll go with:
1. Duane Brown
2. Darren Sharper - never would've thought he would have made the NFL when he was in high school though.
3. Jamie Sharper/Shawn Barber
4. Ron Bush - drafted by the Detroit Tigers
Patrick County High School
Tim Goad - UNC All American/9 years in NFL with New England and Cleveland
Brad Clontz - VT/ Atlanta Braves
(Tim is an interesting guy...retired from NFL; became jackman for a Nascar team for a few years; then went on the Pro Bass circuit).

aren't you overlooking an early 90's OL?
Everybody has to believe in something ... I believe I’ll have another drink. - W.C. Fields
@beercontrol ... a know-nothing
I was 99 from Braddock, had trouble passing religion at DJO always wanted to make me barf lol
and ya i forgot about metcalf
I knew Springs sister, she was a pretty good gymnast too, dont remember if she was ever near olympic though
Just for you beercontrol for LC Bird - you can thank me for getting him to go to school at Tech - Sad thing is he was the highest rated player Tech got in 1992
Tim Wade is the most decorated lineman in Bird history. He went on to play at Virginia Tech, where he met his future bride upon entering his very first class. He expressed his thanks to his parents and grandparents, who never missed a game. Wade remembered thinking during a JV game witnessed by the varsity coaches, “Don’t screw up now; you’ll never make varsity”. He also told of his two-year-old son, a future Skyhawk, who “took out a six-year-old the other day!”
I would like to nominate myself but I better not describe my prowess on the basketball and tennis courts.
Same here, Mike had one all star year in the bigs I believe and now is coaching the Giles High baseball team.
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem" Ronald Regan
No longer coaching the baseball team, fwiw.
attended Fairfax HS from fall '69 thru spring '72. our sports teams were awful. best athlete while I was there was probably the feature twirler...I think she got a scholarship to Ga Tech
graduated Sunset HS (Beaverton, OR) '73. best athlete was Rob Closs who played basketball at Oregon and does (or did) color for their televised basketball games. Most famous Sunset grad in my class is Phil Keisling, a former Sec of State in OR. best athlete from Beaverton in that time frame is former Brave Dale Murphy, who played at rival Beaverton HS
Martinsville High School - most likely Shawn Moore or Lou Whitaker. PJ Preston was a beast, but his career was cut short at VT.
Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
Grundy High School
1. Luke Owens - National champion wrestler in high school, 2 year starter on the line for VT
2. Carey Perkins - Dudley award winner
3. Shane Bowman/Albert Childress - Both 4-time state wrestling champs
Queen Harrison. Herm has a queen harrison day and everything
Good call, how could i forgot about Queen.
Salem High School
Football - Marcus Parker (pre-knee injury)
Football opponent - Maybe the Barber Twins?
Basketball - Mark Byington
Basketball Opponent - JJ Reddick
West Potomac, from my time, Davon Adams, RB/DB. Dude was a monster and to this day best runningback I have seen(might be biased because I blocked for him.)
Willie Pile would be one the hokie nation might appreciate. He and Davon were a sick combo at safety.

Great Bridge, Carl Perry wrestling national champ at Illinois, Lawrence Johnson olympic pole vaulter, Justin Upton number 1 overall pick by the Diamondbacks, Mike Cuddyer (Twins and Rockies) and John ? (Redsox) were both first round picks out of HS on the same team in 97, I think at the time that was the 2nd time that had happened in the history of the MLB draft.
