Showed that grapic during the game, that Cinncy ran a spread offense, and VT ran "Multiple" offenses.
And we wonder why we have no frekkin identity. Even ESPN has no clue whatsoever as to what kind of offense we are running.
And rightfully so. Our offense has been trash for almost the last decade. Tyrod SAVED us for 4 years. Wilson and Williams also masked how lame our offense was. Our offense is SO predictable. I know two things about technical football....jack and 5hit, and I predicted 3 offensive plays in a row that lead to a 3 and out. My 6 year old son looked at me and said, "Wow dad, you know a lot about football!" I told him I've been watching a rerun for the last decade.
How do we run a multiple offense and it's so predictable
I figured out why this keeps happening, every game the coaches always say they will go back and look at the tape and get this thing right, the problem is the tape only shows the players not the coaches
This, I don't know much about X's and O's but can predict well over half of our plays strictly by looking at the formation. We run lots of formations but one look at the personnel and alignment tells me exactly whats coming. Opposing DCs must love it.
Here is the problem with the Virginia Tech offense. First drive of the third quarter they run the jet sweep for a nice gain to DR. The next play they fake the jet sweep and pitch the ball to JC. If you watch the replay #4 never hesitates or deviates from JC Coleman. In the last year or two teams have picked up tendacies in the offense and are jumping all over the plays.
Multiple offense....we don't have one offense... I just couldn't get over 90 penalty yards in the 1st half to 70 yards of offense???
That said, we broke some plays in the 2nd half, founds some points, and played to the end.
The announcers were ripping our O all game long....this "multiple" offenses shows exactly what our O is...a jumble of every O in the book that makes no sense. "Multiple" means farce. It is a farce of an offense. And everyone but Frank knows it. And everyone but Frank and his buddies want something other than a farce O.
One play pretty much summed up our offensive issues.... In the first half, we have a 3rd and long from deep in our own territory. We run a swing pass to JC with two of our O-lineman leading him and a lot of green in front of him. Both lineman proceed to go inside and DIVE at a linebackers knees and both WHIFF. They are laying on the ground while JC gets gang tackled a yard short of the sticks. Pitiful blocking, pitiful coaching, pitiful execution..... We run multiple offenses...but none of them well...
Also, first and goal at the UC 3. VT scores a TD that's nullified by a holding call, and then LT throws high to an open guy near the goal line. A good pass is a VT TD, but the high pass is tipped and intercepted.
Dunn has to catch that ball. No excuse.
I wish I could upvote this a hundred times. It was comical. My brother and I rewatched it about 5 times. It was almost like a blooper reel.....
Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
That was a horrible pass that every other acc qb completes...
Agree. That play had be screaming at the TV.
i agree we run a multiple offense. one half we don't have an offense then the next we have something that resembles an offense.
I believe technically the offense we run is a "Everybody starts in the wrong spot and motions to the right spot, except a couple of players who start in the right spot, motion to the wrong spot, then motion back to the right spot....HUT" offense.
This is true
The funny part is that announcer was Dan Hawkins...the coach that put Boise on the map before Peterson.
He was probably sitting back thinking he's be averaging 40 pts/gm with those athletes.
I don't see it happening, but IF CFB resigned, Hawkins would be a guy I'd at least like to consider.
He failed at Colorado but that program has gotten even worse since he left.
Hawkins can't recruit. That's why he failed at Colorado. If he has a staff that recruits well then he can be successful.

His commentary during the game was great. He really had me fired up during the 2nd qtr. I honestly believe that is what the coaching staff is lacking, heart and desire. Beamer seems to be going through the motions each week....
Christ Himself would've had trouble catching that ball.
Edit: Fire Newsome

Ironically, I am confident Logan could have caught that ball.
Firing Newsome alone wouldn't fix our offensive issues.....it goes much deeper than one assistant coach.
