Welcome Mr G.
Aaron is a testament to your upbringing. I can tell you are proud, as you should be.
Thanks for your enlightening comments. Everyone loves to feel wanted, especially impressionable kids.
I for one hope lots of invites are forthcoming.
Change! Change!! Change!!! 757Nation!!
Good to know! I hope VT does offer your son. He looks to be a perfect fit for our Whip LB or Backer position, imo...
I hope you didn't think I was calling you (or anyone, really) biased. It's refreshing and encouraging to hear your perspective on supporting your son, especially with the horror stories we hear from all over the country of parents and others without your integrity.
If it is staff stability and a family atmosphere you seek, you will be happy with what you find in Blacksburg. Enjoy your visit and good luck!
Always great to see family members of players or recruits on the board. I hope you continue to post.
I for one hope and expect that VT will do a better job recruiting going forward with it's new and younger staff. Frank is sometimes a bit slow to change, but that is because his ways have been so successful. That said, he is moving us in a very positive direction, and I am sure you will see that if you are able to come to the Spring Game.
Hopefully, you can make it to the VT and UV spring games to compare and contrast with your own eyes.
I could see him at Rover as well.
To be clear April 6 is a junior day. The spring game is the 20th, I believe. That is when the NFL players are coming back.

April 20th, Blacksburg is the place you want to be.
Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
DHG2014, you have only made two posts on this board but I have to tell you they were two of the best posts I have read by a parent in a long time. You are the kind of father that a son can look to with pride.
Welcome to our board (which is also your board). I hope that everything works out for your son Aaron's college career and I hope that it's with us.
As I understand it, there has been some heated fellowship between UVA and Tech regarding recruiting in the 757, a certain 7on7 team and the coaches that coach them. I simply wanted to bring some clarity to a cloudy situation. My son has been a part of that team and coached by many of those coaches. Ever since Tech started recruiting my son, he has been excited about the possibility of an offer/playing for them. The possibility seems to be turning more and more into a reality as reported by Coach Gatlon. I just wish we would have had the opportunity to come visit earlier last year, but God has everything in its proper timing. You Gentlemen are awesome as I have read; and that's not only because of the encouraging words y'all have shared about my son. It seems to be something more, something genuine; something transparent and inviting. Honesty and character are high priorities for me and I demand it from my son. I always tell him, your talent will take you to great places, but only your character will keep you in those places.
And thank you Sir for your Kind Words!!!! They do mean a lot........
I know you want to see Aaron over Christmas, but wouldn't it be awfully cool to see him playing in a bowl at that time a year? Just food for thought.
Thanks again for posting. You and Aaron are well advised to consider all options, learn as much about the prospective schools, staffs, facilities, and fans as possible, and make the decision that's best for Aaron, as a student and a football player. The Hokie football staff is one of the best in the country, especially on the defensive side. Also often times it's best when the lead recruiter will also be the position coach, as Cornell Brown could be. Hokiefans are proud of the football program and the family atmosphere created by Frank Beamer. Good luck to you and Aaron.
Your words are much appreciated. Please don't let a few clowns (they'll show up eventually) change your mind.
This ^^^^^^^ is awesome!!! I want Aaron and his family in O&M. Go Hokies!
I see my posts were deleted. Seems like you can't post truth or get real reactions from people. Everybody oppressed and everything monitored.
No it was because you were just trying to cause trouble for no reason.
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem" Ronald Regan
Wow! I may humbly disagree about that certain 7 on 7 team, where a certain coach was dropping F bombs, but this is a very impressive post. I'm sure that wherever Aaron ends up he will do well if this is what he receives at home.
Wow!!!! The so called rumors are no longer rumors; but in fact, Truth!! There are people on the boards that bash the 757. I spoke with one of the writers from VTScoop and he asked me if he could interview my son. I told him, absolutely!!! I even invited him to our Sunday afternoon workout at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex 1pm-3pm. I only asked that he would give me a heads up call for a field pass. I don't know of any coach in our camp that would discourage an athlete from going to a program. This is not about a coach, but 110% about the student/athletes. If Tech is willing to invest a $300,000 scholarship in a athlete, who are we or anyone else for that matter to tell them no, don't go to Tech. I don't have $300,000 plus laying around and neither do these coaches. We welcome all to come out; Caution!! If you Mr. Maximus show up, Please do not insinuate anything to the athletes or parents and please do not instigate accusations and arguments. Best Regards to the rest of my new friends!!!
