We need to pin this thread and have students/players post pics of their food from the dining halls. Haha....seriously!! Nnadi has mentioned it.....now Hand is saying how important food is to him. Our dining hall food is outrageously good! I mean, if recruits read this board on a regular basis, why not remind them there are no D-1 schools that can beat us in that category!! Agree?
Oh, West End. How I miss you so...
Oh man, how I long for another order of double London broil, double mashed potatoes from West End. Set a solid base layer for many nights out in Blacksburg with that meal. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
West End Old Hickory burger FTW
Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
the steak sandwich from JPs Chop House was unreal. It was only served before 4pm so not many people knew about it but it was amazing.
I never had the pleasure of experiencing good food on campus (mid 80's).....we got excited when it was pizza and tater tots...haha. I did find this photo online just for D. Hand since he loves seafood.
Turkey sub from Owen's with dijonaise spread might have been the most underrated meal on campus.
Nice video!! Makes me hungry just watching it.
Virginia Tech has some of the best dining in the country. Join Johnny as he showcases some of the finest eateries.
I've been crying myself to sleep every night since I graduated....because I miss the food.
Someone get this video to Hand. This new dining hall is almost too much... almost.
Blacksburg, VA. A Tour of Lavery Hall, on opening day (August 27, 2012). With eight vendors, Turner Place is the premier college campus dining hall. The lower floor includes a special seating area for the Corps of Cadets, and the third floor contains classrooms.
The eight shops, including three national chains (marked by "*"):
-1872 Fire Grill
-Bruegger's Bagels *
-Dolci e Caffe
-Jamba Juice *
-Origami (Sushi/Japanese Grill)
Elevator fans: Dieselducy and I will get an exclusive video of the elevators at a later date.
Everywhere you look....VT is near the top of the rankings for campus food. No other BCS school compares.
College food has a bad rap, but some schools go above and beyond to make it great. Newsweek ranks schools that offer the best atmosphere for foodies, on campus and off.
What? There's now a dining hall on the academic side of the drillfield? I knew I graduated too early

Qdoba gave me a chip today that looked like this...
Turners is definitely where it's at now. Even better than west end!
I was at VT from `74 - `78. Back then, dining hall food was a little bit above high school food...maybe. Salad bars? Didn`t exit. If I ate breakfast,it usually consisted of a doughnut and milk. Food cooked to order? Give me a break! Ah,the good old days.
You know it's bad when you're upset during school breaks because it meant the dining halls were closed.
I graduated in 2011 and have worked for the University since I graduated. I love the food here. Even though I dont have a meal plan anymore, I still get lunch from West End every single day instead of bringing my own prepared food. Cannot beat it
My time at VT as well...only lived on campus one year but never could figure out what the metallic green sheen on the roast beef was.......I see what is provided now.....unbelievable.....
It`s night and day compared to when we were there.
A step up from prison food.
I was there until 95. It was ok, but not great. I lived in Cochrane and we had our own dining hall, which I think is west end now if I'm not mistaken.
