The problems for this team run deep, players to coaches. I think a year where we don't even finish in the top-half of the Coastal would spark the changes needed from a coaching standpoint. We still play Miami, UNC, Clemson, FSU, Duke, and UVA. How many of those games are gimmies for this roster right now? One? Two? Three tops?
This season is far from over if viewed from an ACC lens, but that can be good and bad. There's a lot of room to improve, but there's also a lot of room to drop what should be some winnable games. Somehow we all (fans, coaches, and media alike) vastly overrated this group of players. We need to accept the reality of what this current roster is - that is - a defense with good talent from the starters, but lacks depth, an offense whose QB seems to have gone backwards from last season and who has less weapons around him, and a coaching staff that puts them all in bad situations.
Time for some realistic expectations, you guys. 8 wins might be a great season after bowl season is said and done with this core group of players. Sad, but true.
I gotta say I'm disappointed but not surprised.
