The following excerpt is pulled from a puff piece from the Charlotteshole Daliy Regress. Apparently they only have 3 corners on their team:
Between the UVa three, Poindexter sees one glaring common denominator.
“We’ve been fortunate,” he said. “Our state’s been producing size and the surrounding areas that we recruit have been producing size-players on the back end and we’ve been fortunate just to be able to get some of them.
“Obviously, you got to coach them up.”
And mesh them to a secondary that started four sophomores — Anthony Harris, Brandon Phelps, Drequan Hoskey, Demetrious Nicholson — last season while rotating Canady, who served as the nickelback.
Tenuta should have a fun project to work on.
“As you all know, the best guys will play,” said UVa corners coach Chip West. “Last year, the first day of practice, Drequan Hoskey wasn’t doing everything he needed to do and, without any hesitation, we put Maurice Canady in.
“The best people, the best players are going to play. The guys that give us the best chance to win are obviously going to play.”
Bring it on, said Garner.
“What they tell me is they only have three corners,” said the four-star prospect. “And the nickel package is pretty big for me — especially with this new defense that Coach Tenuta is going to bring in.
What's the lie in that quote
If they are out of line I will be the first to say, but I their coaches are pretty standup people, and I think a lot of the 7 on 7 coaches they work with often get unfairly criticized. There is a solid group of high school coaches, UVA coaches, and the 7 on 7 coaches, that work well together in the kid's best interest, giving them their best opportunity to achieve the highest level of success possible, while obtaining the best education possible.
Personally, I think all involved in that process should be encouraged, and applauded. That's just how I roll.
So they tell Garner they only have 3 corners, but their entire 2 deep at corner returns, plus a bunch of redshirts. In this subject called math, that means more than 3.
7 CBs and 11 safeties.

Then needed to have equal numbers of safeties and QB's.
Well,if the recruits aren`t smart enough to look at the roster....
What he meant was, we only have 3 corners that can play with you, which maybe true, but I'd be damn pissed if I was a DB on that team and my coach just said that. They better start RS or they will never catch up
You think maybe he was told 3 CB that have played. Meaning there are spots available on the 2deep.. and the kid just didn't elaborate or the quote was cute to fit the article!
I bleed orange and maroon, but I don't see any issues with that quote. It's a stretch. You here kids we recruit say all the time that the coaches told them that they need players at their position, even if we actually have a lot if guys on the roster at said spot.
They put this on the Internet therefore it's true!!!
