Listen I realize some have a very strong opinion on the breds, but please from one hokie fan to another, stop talking trash about anyone associated with them. I've read the rivalry thread on the blue board and the Kamara thread, none of it can do any good all it can do is harm. Even those that think that it doesn't hurt VT, can you please defer to a "What If" thought process? If we all on here want VT to recruit at an even higher level, why in the world would you write or say something that even had the slightest chance of harming VT's recruiting efforts? And those that rationalize it as if a recruit is that easily swayed, then we don't want them, that's not for you or me to say, it's up to the coaches. So again just grit your teeth and drop it please.
"why in the world would you write or say something that even had the slightest chance of harming VT's recruiting efforts?"
After one of the "breds" received a VT offer, one of "coaches" of the "breds" tweeted (translation) "fvck Tech" in reply.
It's not the fan base that is harming VT's recruiting efforts.
In this case, turning the other cheek may be the best policy. No good can come from trashing others. Take the high road and any other cliche you can think of to make VT look like the bigger men (and you know we are )
a hypothetical ....my son's soccer coach has a tremendous following among pre HS aged boys who come to his practices in droves all week
guy is an awesome person
then some college message board desk jockeys want to come in and talk sh** about this guy?
some of you folks really need a clue
if you had complete knowledge of the situation your name would be God with the capital G
its not talking sh** its not being a Hokie... its poisoning the well
write 1000 times on the chalkboard "I will not fu** up things I don't know anything about"... if that doesn't get it out of your system, repeat until it does
he didnt wake up one day and decide he hated tech to that point.
there is a long history before that tweet that you may not know about, or are ignoring.
the tweet was the result of two sides having differences. a year ago, that same tweeter didnt care which in state school kids wated to go to, he was neutral. WE helped to change that somewhere along the line.
please realize that your perspective on this is clouded, because you don't know all the things that took place, and the egos involved on BOTH sides.
sorry for all the lower case, key sticking

i +1 for every poster above me, vt2amu included. I think he is being honest in his assessment, and just needs to hear more to make a better assessment.
Amen Road Runner.
Praise the Lord Hubcap
dex is up for the day, and Im still putzing about. Ill likely hit the sack at 6 central.
how you doing man? welcome to the night shift (my perspective)
I agree, it needs to be dropped. The F Tech comment is EXACTLY what we needed to have a branch to reach out...I hope and trust that has been done...and will drop it
You need to stop making excuses for this guy. Every time you do it just stokes the fire some more, atleast in my belly. There is NO EXCUSE for tweeting what he did, I don't care what happened between him and our coaches in the past. I won't say any more. If he just came out and apologized and said admitted that he was in the wrong I could atleast respect that about him.
At this point the best thing is just for people to stop bringing up the Breds. IIWII and nothing we can say or do will change it.
THE ONLY THING I'M ADDICTED TO IS WINNING--CHARLIE SHEEN
All right, so we are all agreed that the best course is to drop it and do our best to never give them more attention, mindshare and bandwidth than they warrant. I trust our new and improved coaching staff to handle this. We need to take the highroad and eventually everything will sort itself out over time. We are well positioned to continue our dominance over the hoos regardless of what one 7v7 team wants. We are VT. We are the alpha male in this state. There is no need for us to be insecure about our flagship status. UV is a small school filled with out of state nerds that leave to go back to wherever they came from upon graduation. The people of this state know that VT is our true state University. Futhermore, do any of us really think London is a threat to the staff we have now? The only threat London poses is to the retirement homes around Charlotteshole.
If the thoroughbred kids want to be part of something special, then they are more than welcome to become a part of Hokie nation in my opinion. The hoos are not a winning option. Turning over your entire coordinating staff after year 3 is a clear indictment of London. Frank Beamer is a hall of fame coach that has done right by the 757 for a long time. It would be great if our 757 alums/former players were to wage a positive PR campaign for VT in that area to take back the hearts and minds of the parents in that community. Why not make a commercial with former 757 Hokies, like Adibi, Chancellor, Hall, Dwight Vick, Michael and anyone else that wants in touting what VT has to offer kids from that area? Time to be agressive in our approach in this critical area.
