Well, way back when, TSL message board posters scared Coleman away and he ended up doing big things at Hampton. Maybe we can do the same for Chuck Long!
Sheesh O&M. Don't hold back.
Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
We don't want Long as OC, but I would take him as a QB coach.
Depends on who else we can land. Recruiting is 50% of the game. Long doesn't recruit. If you bring in Long, you have to hit land a home run recruiter in other coaches.
Not necessarily. Remember, now that Stiney won't have OC duties, he'll have lots of time to recruit.
Not every coach needs to be an ace recruiter. In fact, I would prefer it if our OC wasn't our best recruiter on staff. Let the position coaches handle the vast majority of the prospects and allow the OC and DC to assist with more of the major recruits.
With the way the map is divided up, I don't see a big need anywhere in VA. Shane has Richmond, Stiney has the 757, Brown has southern part of the Tidewater region, Gray has NOVA, and Foster has some of the towns south of I-95. We have all of the major in-state regions covered. If anything, I would love for our new OL coach, QB coach, or WR coach to have ties in either Maryland, NC, SC, GA, FL, or PA. That's where we need to step it up. I've always felt like VT is enough of a brand to land 1 or 2 kids in the NC top 10 every year. Then occasionally land a top 10 kid in PA, MD, GA, and FL.
Really theres no reason we shouldn't land a top 10 kid from PA or MD on the reg.
