So basically, we need to keep Stiney in the OC position because, if we don't, he will cash out his contract and go to some other big time school that is drooling to get him either due to his prowess as an OC, a recruiter in the 757, or both. However, at the same time and as our OC, he can't be held accountable for our putrid offense, because he is handcuffed.
Sounds like we're in a catch 22 then? There are no paths to getting a dependably productive offense?
I think a vast majority want him associated with the program in some way just not as OC. He may very well be a capable/good OC but we have no data to back that up. Either he is not very good or he is good but Frank and maybe others are holding him back. Either way that is a problem for VT. If he is good than for his own sake he either needs to leave VT, or tell Frank to give him the reins and freedom to run his O. The current status quo is very bad for both him and VT.
Without Stiney VT wouldn't exist. Neither would the internet. tic If he were replaced VT would recruit better. The HS coaches and players watch the games.
