I know this is what we expected, but I received confirmation from someone with inside information that there will be coaching changes. They will be announced after the bowl game.I did not find out any specifics, though. Also,TSL reported today that there was mutual interest between Auburn and Stinespring regarding him possibly coaching their OL. I heard tonight, though, that Auburn hired the Arkansas State OL coach.
Former VT Oline coach J.B. Grimes.
Yea, I haven't looked for confirmation anywhere but my Auburn buddy texted me and said they hired Grimes.
would have been nice to have JB back at VT....i know those linemen from the 90's liked him a lot.
Insider on TSL says, "minimal changes at best". Sure hope he's wrong.
Is it VTScout again, or someone else?
Given the new information today, my current fear is that we will end up keeping Stiney slotted as OC in order to prevent him from bolting. I'd still be surprised if either Newsome or O'Cain return.

The Dean himself.
Yep, I'm concerned about very little changes or just the OL coach. Stiney has put all the O coaches in a bad situation over the years. VT needs a new OC.
Also I doubt that Auburn had much interest in Stiney. Things like that are floated imo to make it appear that some coaches are more valuable than they actually are. Why would Auburn be interested in Stiney when the last time VT played UA they had about 150 total on O. That is who Auburn is competing against.
They had a very interesting post yesterday regarding changes mentioning that Stiney to AU thing and us trying to get Franklin but didn't have the $$$.

I don't know who this Dean guy is but its pretty clear that there are going to be more than minimal changes. His definition of minimal might be different than you or I.
If you ask me, a post like that is vague enough that he doesn't appear wrong no matter what happens, so who knows if this guy knows anything.
I heard Shaka Smart is going to be our next O-Coordinator. Inside info from reliable source so keep on this board please.
If Dean Wormer said it...its true. He is VERY well connected and has never been wrong.
I`m not sure the degree of changes, but I`m confident there will be changes after my communication with the person I mentioned. He is someone who has a direct line to the inside. I should add that the only way I could see no changes is if certain things" fall through". For example,Stinespring not going to Auburn now or a deal with a new OC falling through. You just never know until the t`s are crossed and the i`s are dotted.

We should have bolted for the SEC, I see us getting left behind mainly because we cannot afford to keep with the top programs in the ACC, much less the rest of the country.
Its easy to be never wrong when your vague enough.
I will be absolutely floored if VT does not make a change at the OL and QB coach positions in the offseason.
WRX, while I understand your point, I am just letting you know about Dean Wormer. He has been around for a while now and isn't a wanna be guru type poster. Only posts every now and again and has always been one of the first to break news. If Dean said it, it's usually correct.
Thats fine, I just wouldn't start the board meltdown early. I just think he's playing the game. Too much smoke and his post is really vague. OL and QB coach are gone at a minimum and if he thinks thats "minimal" then he comes off sounding correct.
Well we've needed changes for 5 years and nothing has happened, I will believe it when I see it. Frank is loyal, some say too loyal.
He is quietly, IMO, one of the best Offensive Line Coaches in the game
Follow my blog.
Great video of Grimes....love the fact he has such deep convictions about the way it has to be done.
Arkansas State Offensive Line Coach J.B. Grimes.

How did we lose him in the first place?
