What would realistically have to happen, to put some heat on our coaching staff. I've always tried to keep a positive outlook with the men who our leading this team, but I've been baffled by all 3 games played this year. What will it take for the coaches to wake up, or hit the road?
maybe it would be having a 6-6 or 7-5 season? Losing to UVA this year? Ranking low offensively? Whatever it is, I kind of hope it happens. I think the coaches are too comfortable where they are. I guess Im ranting a little because of pure disappointment, but like all of you, I just want the best for our football team. I don't think we have the right mix in the coaching staff anymore. just my opinion though...
For starters, we ABSOLUTELY cannot win 10 games. Continuing that streak would only lead Frank to believe that we were successful.
Second, we would absolutely need to lose another game like this (Bowling Green, Cincy, Duke).
Third, losing to UVA would need to happen.
Lastly, we absolutely cannot make it to the ACC Championship.

ranking low offensively won't get anyone fired, we've seen that already. offense is consistently terrible but we get bailed out by our athletes. we don't have the freaks this year on offense so now the coaching is showing it's ugly head. the coaches continue to make excuses why the offense is bad and they'll do the same this year stating how many players we lost on offense. this would be a valid point if the offenses in the past were good when we had experience. it looks the same no matter who is in there and it's frustrating as hell. i will never drink the kool-aid at the beginning of the year until VT proves otherwise from now on.
i don't think we'll have to worry about winning 10 games this year or the ACCCg. i can see us losing to cincy for sure...maybe even bowling green because they aren't that bad. duke is even showing flashes and they are experienced on offense i think.
I doubt if anything changes even with a couple subpar seasons in a row. Changes won't occur until (more) donors step up and hit VT where it hurts.

THE ONLY THING I'M ADDICTED TO IS WINNING--CHARLIE SHEEN
We should have jumped at the chance to go to the SEC and FORCE our coaching staff and recruiters to get to the next level...but now we will wallow in the status quo in a crappy conference forever unless we can collect $50M in a hat. Days like this, days like JMU, days like the ACC champ against Clemson, days like Stanford in Orange Bowl, Sugar last year etc...just leave me so damn frustrated. Why we can't win most of the games we should makes me wonder about some of our coaching decisions and team preparation during the week.
