Sorry to drag this up again, but I just saw a very good picture of the Watkins fumble that I figured you folks might like to see.
How in the hell do the replay officials with the ability to play the video frame by frame miss that? Unbelievable. I guess we'll get an apology from the league office early in the week.
yep, hokies never get any help from the refs, that is fo sho!
can't wait for the apology. It will mean so much, like when they apologized about danny coale's catch in the michigan game. I really appreciated the apology. lol. Its like not only did our offense and special teams do anything and everything possible to lose the game, lets go ahead and throw in some blown calls against the hokies too and make sure they're dead.

Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
Ray Charles could see that was a fumble
Another horrible call was at the end of the game when Boyd fumbled and the ball went into the endzone and a Clemson player fell on it for an apparent TD. Now, don't get me wrong, that call affected absolutely nothing, and Clemson scored 2 plays later. Missing the call influenced nothing at all. Just going along with the theme of horrible calls, and also reviewed, and again the commentators agreed it was a no brainer and would be reversed. It wasn't.
And, to touch on being a couple plays away, as has been mentioned, it goes both ways. I just saw this highlighted on yahoo sports, Cole's interception as he is on the ground. As the commentator pointed out, when Cole slipped, it's game over for the Hokies on that play. If Boyd makes a good thrown, Sammy (I believe) scores easily. Boyd makes a horrible throw, and we get the pick. Could have easily been 7 points for Clemson. You just can't cherry pick the plays we could have scored.
The ironic thing about the missed Boyd call was that Clemson was able to run another 2 minutes off the clock. Dabo didn't have the Tigers take a knee but instead made every effort to score. When the Hokies got the ball back we ran out the clock instead of throwing the ball down field. You're right though the replay officials were badly wrong on three reviews.
The fumble at the end of the game should have been a touchback for VT. The ball was clearly out and went into the end zone. There is no way they could have for certain said Clemson recovered, thus in those situations that ball is supposed to go to the Defense (or so I have been led to believe).

if they didn't have slow motion in the booth it was on their jumbo tron. and they played it over and over and the entire stadium thought it was a fumble. it really was a joke. clemson fans were in disbelief. On the jumbotron, they slowed it down, zoomed in. it was not even close.
ACC wants Clemson to go 11-1 and get another chance at 2 BCS bids. the fix is in my friends.
Pretty sure the Clemson player fell right on it...
To the person that downvoted me, I hope you have a pleasant day to offset whatever my posting this image did to upset you.
Agree. Just another blown replay from whoever was supposed to be up there. Did anyone see Kyle Fuller on that play.......I wont comment, but someone tell me what he was doing and where the effort was.

Not making excuses for Kyle Fuller but his shoulder is hurting him big time and he is just not mentally there.. Injuries make players do weird things.. And you can tell his is obviously effecting his play.
I believe that there needs to be some "young eyes" in the replay booth. Not saying that older people lose their eye sight, which they do, but Im tired of 70 year old men with a half inch thick pair of glasses looking at replay and flat out MISSING CALLS!
I want replay ref fired!
Agreed. I saw clearly where the Clemson Olineman fell on the ball.
This. Accountability. Especially the Watkins fumble, that was a possible 14 point swing.
Exactly, it could've been a 14 point swing but at the very least we finally gain a field position advantage instead of our D having to defend a short field.
