between the SEC and the ACC. There are articles like this almost daily yet our Admin continually says those figures are incorrect, inflated, blah blah blah. I've asked before..... can someone please tell me why the money our Admin projects VT to make if we were to join the SEC is FAR under what every other school, media source, etc., projects a school to make? What are they missing that virtually EVERYONE else sees?
Here's a blurb from the article: "There's a middle tier of schools -- particularly in the ACC -- falling farther behind in dollars. The divide impacts major decisions in college sports such as conference realignment and football coaching hires, not to mention recruiting budgets, staff salaries and newer facilities."
See where every BCS-conference school ranked in total revenue during 2011-12. The gap continued to widen, even within conferences.

Because our admins know what it means if they ever came out and admitted it! I think our administration is very aged and that means they are stuck with what will be comfortable!
As much as it pains me to say this, we need some youth infusion into the administration and the athletic dept. The old heads won't admit or make any changes no matter how much money it would flood into the school. It's Commons since you will make a shit ton more money in the sec over the acc! But that would mean actually having to run your program like a sec program, and the old heads are not up for this!
Our admins act like a small business that is comfortable with our success and afraid to jump into the corporate world. Not sure what that means for long-term success
Just wait until the 2012 - 2013 numbers come out!
That'll be the first year that Mizzou and Texas A&M will have been in the SEC. They should both see about a $10mil bump year over year.
Apparently we don't need the money. An empty trophy case is cheaper than a filled trophy case.
Take a look at Arkansas' profit increase....in only 5 years. Wow!
Let's just call it like it is....Our admins have joined the UVA admins under the UNC desk.
