I think he comes back....but he probably leaves. My sources say if he comes back he will start
I think he leaves, but then comes back, and then leaves again.
If he was leaving I think he would have said so. This seems like a well played rally the troops around a new OC moment. Not saying that is bad or will not be genuine, I think LT benifits more personally than anyone else.
Brett Favre moment?
Best ever in Blacksburg?!?
You do realize Mike Vick played at Tech right? MV1 was one of the best college QBs ever, LT is no where near that level, hell I wouldn't even say hes played better than MV2.
Agreed. Stats wise he will break records though in yards, completions, TDs etc I would imagine. If he stays we can get a quick assessment of how lefty is at qb development.
THANK YOU!! Add Randall and Tyrod into that list as well

Statistically. If he comes back he will have VT career passing yardage and TD records, total yardage, and an arm full of other records.
It's funny that we put Randall, Tyrod, and Michael up on a pedestal but are willing to degrade Logan as a QB. Michael was a 54% passer his second year at QB. Randall threw 55% when he won the ACC POY. Tyrod is a career 57% passer. The difference in all of them was that they were on better teams than Logan was on last year. We saw how good Logan can be with a good team in 2011. But I seriously doubt any of the other great QBs could have saved this season. Logan has abilities that we don't see everyday with college QBs, abilities that could transition very well to the next level. He has to improve upon things as well, but he could easily be a 1st round pick this year because of those abilities and those dismissing them are only doing so because of how bad the team was this year. Key word is team.
Logan is good but he can't our offense go by himself. Our offense is better last year with a senior Tyrod (fourth year for Tyrod compared to fourth year for LT... or junior Tyrod really) than it was with Logan. Same deal with MV7.
That's not a slight on Logan. It's just a testament to how I feel about those QBs. Also, Tyrod was a hell of a leader.
You're playing hypotheticals. Logan's sophomore year was better than Tyrod's junior year. Did Logan really take a step back and Tyrod take a step forward? Or is it because Tyrod's senior season had much more talent on the offensive side of the ball than Logan had this year. Tyrod's senior year he had Coale, Boykin, a healthy Dyrell, the three headed running attack (Williams, Evans, and Wilson), and Andre Smith, who was one of our better TE in recent history. That might have been the most talented offensive team that VT had. Logan had nothing like that surrounding him this year. Thank god Corey Fuller stepped up and Davis was able to have some big games because other than that, the offense had no weapons. Tyrod was also on teams with worse offenses than Logan had this year, but unlike this year, those defenses won us games. We did not create as many turnovers as we did during the early years of Tyrod, so we were not bailed out when the offense fell apart.
Vick had Andre Davis, probably our best WR in the past 15 years to go along Stith and Suggs. Again, great complementary pieces to help our QB. Both Tyrod and Vick had help. When Logan had help, he had arguably the best season of any VT QB. But we see how pedestrian our offense is when VT does not have a running game and defenses can sit back and make the QB beat us. You don't see QBs who are successful without a running game. Or if they are, its because they play in a spread offense that uses a lot of screens to avoid the long passes. We don't have that kind of offense because we rely on the running game. Our running game failed, so we had to use Logan as a battering ram. That has to have an affect on a QB, no matter how big and strong he is.
Not going to get into an argument. I' will say that it's not all the surrounding talent when you are throwing dirtballs for the entire first three quarters of a game, as LT did against Rutgers. I was there, and it was pathetic. The help wasn't all there this season, but LT didn't always help out his supporting cast.
And FWIW, I was a huge fan of LT prior to the season and believe that if he can get back to playing to his talent that he can be a high pick in the draft.
Curious how you all see your season going if he leaves? If so will Bucky start right away? Curious about your W/L predictions both with and without Thomas now that the ACC schedule is out. Thanks in advance
Unless he walks in and blows the pants off Leal I doubt it. He'll probably redshirt.
If Logan goes, Leal will start. I have a feeling Leal would be pretty good... W/L's, I have no idea, but Either way, I see around 9 wins at least next year. Our D should be very good, and I see a good improvement on O next year.
Wow 9 wins with or without Thomas? I kind of thought Leal was way behind him. Your offense struggled and Thomas was/is your best player on offense so I'm surprised you dont think he would be the difference between 1-2 win's/losses. Also curious if you think an RB rotation will continue or if one guy will separate himself next year?
Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
Leal is very very respected as a QB within the program and could apparently start at multiple ACC schools. I talked to a player the other day who thinks that Leal should have been the QB this whole time. He said he is very good in practice. Obviously he has no real game experience, but I think that most of the Hokie Nation would be very comfortable with him leading the team.
As far as running backs and such go, it's hard to tell since we have a new offensive leader coming in. Time will tell I suppose.
LT was our only player in many games because we had no identity and no idea how to incorporate anyone else into the game plan...except the FSU game, we decided to run a spread attach and let LT throw to guys in 1-1 coverage...and bam, we have our best game of the year...but we only do that in one game???!!!
A new OC AND OLC will at least work with what we have and have a game plan to take advantages of our strengths and away from our weaknesses....I know that sounds basic and obvious, but clearly it escaped out previous O group.
Our D wins 7-8 next year, if the O is as it was last year we are 7, if it is slightly improved we are 8, the wins go up as we go along on O. We can win all of our OOC (except Bama, I'd be happy with a moral victory) and ACC games if we play well on O
I do because Vick had a better line and more threats at each position. Our line back then was prolly the best we have ever seen and the line with LO has been less than par. That was coaching though in my opinion.
