This guy is a huge improvement from 3rd and Long.
Happens to many good assistants, happens in college football..I like the hire if it would happen personally

I'm actually liking the idea of Loeffler more and more.....sounds like his tough years were a matter of square peg, round hole. He's worked with some really great QB's and is more of a pro-style guy. Here's a good article. SIAP.
Scot Loeffler has a great track record in developing quarterbacks, but what does his hiring at Auburn say about the offensive direction of the conference?
Sign him up!
Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
Yeah the more I read about Loeffler, the more I really like it. He's very simliar to Pep in terms of the style offenses they run and his age. One benefit that Loeffler has is Southeastern recruiting experience, personally if we got him, I'd hope we get into the state of Florida more than we currently do. I'd be curious to see who he brings as his assistants. As we've all stated, the OL coach that is hired is incredibly critical.
I'd take this in a heartbeat, especially after the Chuck Long scare.
Here's another article that's not exactly flattering FWIW.
What I’m hearing about Loeffler off the field is even more disturbing than what I see on the field from Auburn.
I read that he is a "multiple" guy who incorporates various formations to meet the needs of each game/situation and one that fits the current talents of the team. I really don't like "multiple" styles, but it may be better from someone who has a clue about the various formations/styles. I'd be excited by this hire.

I don't know if Loefler is a good OC or not.....what I do take away from that article is that it seems some Florida and Alabama high school coaches are more sensitive that a bunch of 8th grade girls. The excerpt below(from the article) belongs on a Jr High school girl's Myspace page. He said, she said....wah wah wah...
"You may say Frangie doesn’t know what he’s talking about as a member of the media. Fair enough. My work at 1010XL also puts me in contact with many of the high school coaches in the First Coast area. During a group conversation with one of these coaches (the coach of a very prominent recruit, a player Auburn was after who could step on campus and start immediately) he was asked about the recruiting process – which coaches impressed him, which didn’t. Coach X immediately responded with “Scot Loeffler” when asked who rubbed him the wrong way. This coach described Loeffler as abrasive, braggadocious and a bit of a clown.
An isolated incident perhaps. In a phone conversation with an Auburn partisan last week, Loeffler’s name came up again. My friend quickly offered a story about a coach he knows personally who attended a clinic at Auburn. This coach told my friend, unprompted, about how poor of a communicator Loeffler was. How uncomfortable Loeffler seemed around the other coaches and players. How Loeffler's personality was off-putting."
