"@DMVFollowers: Big Ten has offered UNC, Georgia Tech & Virginia to join the conference. #ByeByeACC"
If true things could get a bit interesting. Time to start spinning the realignment wheels yet again
I'll believe that when my sh*t turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet. (Name that movie quote...and go!)
Twitter: @bc10wjvt or @TheNorthEndzone
This info is coming from tweets two days earlier from TheDude, a WVU fan who admits that he makes things up to make the ACC look bad.
Seeing other places confirming reports. People in the know seem to believe this could be more than just conjecture at this point
Where there is smoke, there is fire.
This saying is 99% accurate, it is not in regards to conference realignment rumors. These things happen under the table and the B1G is way too professional to let these things leak.
If it is from that Greg Swaim guy, immediately disregard... That guy just throws crap at the wall, hoping it will stick...
So the B1G wants to go to 17? Or are they just accepting the first two takers? Not sure that this makes sense from their perpective.
I still think 18 conference members is much more appealing than 16. Divisions of 9 give a true round robin in hoops and true 8 game conference schedule for football, and the division champs play for the Conference Title. This way, they will never have met during the regular season, so no rematches.
18 teams with two 9 team divisions just seems cleaner than 16 teams with four 4 team pods.
(Oh, and in reference to your post about 17 members in the B1G, the 18th could be Notre Dame or Duke)

Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
Also saw something about the announcements being done by the NCAA tourney, and also saw that ND was having buyers remorse about the ACC. At least UNC/UVA to the BIG seem to make VT/NCSU likely.
When is the UMD decision coming down on whether or not they have to pay the full 50 million? Until that comes, I'm not going to really read into any of the conference realignment rumors.
"I don't care what nobody say I'm a be me, stay hood stay real, cause I'm out here grindin'" -Frank Beamer
Once again its all hearsay until UMD settles their deal. UNC and UVA are rich but they ain't going nowhere if the fee stays at $50 mil
It may be bogus, but I believe expansion has been under discussion by the big conferences for years. And I think schools have been following and positioning themselves all along. Except for VT of course, who is committed to the ACC for its academics no matter what. . If there is any substances to this I hope VT (as we have been assured) has a place to go other than the Big East.
The Court just ruled this week that the UMD motion to throw out the ACC suit (to collect the full exit fee) was denied. So now it goes to court to see if ACC can collect. At the normal pace of our legal system, that could be years.
There is always the chance that the B1G decides that if they move sooner rather than later, they may break up the ACC (or the league's cohesiveness and will) and make the exit fee issue a moot point or at least a much harder one to defend in court.
UNC will NEVER leave without Duke.
Will be done soon.
Not sure how reliable, but

50 million is a drop in the bucket to UVA........pocket change.
Please elaborate on what will be done soon.
I think I'd rather see the Big 12 add 4-6 more teams and have an East/West Split. VT/CU/FSU/WVU/GT/Louisville/Iowa State making up the East and OU/OSU/Texas/TTU/KU/KSU/BU on the West. I don't want the SEC culture at VT. Also, getting the WVU rivalry back would be awesome. And, there's still a douchey bball school that everyone can hate in Kansas
