and LOL still am to a point. Still after thinking about what Middleguard said maybe we should relax a tidbit. Helll the defense had it easy Saturday. Coach Loeffler said it would be very basic on spring. The kid's are learning. They are on a MIND clock now not a hey we have to perform for the fan's clock. MIND? Yea, they are not at full speed due to learning a new system,. IMHO it will improve as fall goes along next year. Alabama? LOL we could be at full speed in normal year and have trouble with them cat's. Sometimes it just is what it is. Logan? I watched other scrimmages. He has improved but due to wideouts learning and being MIND tied they dropped alot of passes. Most likely ran alot of bad routes. Thing's that hold your QB back. For VT to be good this year some will have to step up. Sooner the better. BTW I still love the new coaches and what they bring.
Devin Van Dyke? Going to be good one
Joel Caleb? Matter of time.
Trey Edmunds and JC? Come on line. These kid's are ready to go.
Brandon Fayscon? SMILE
Dejourn Green? Another Smile
Josh Stanford? Just needs confidence
Dj COLES? the key
Dadi Nicholas? Whose your Daddy?
Luther Maddy? Whose your Maddy?
WVU? just a lil more then UVa
I was a little disappointed right after the scrimmage too, for one reason I had watched the previous two which were the 1s against the 1s mostly & was excited about how the offense looked & they looked pretty good, but Saturday they did'nt run some the stuff I had seen before, but after I found out some details it made me feel much better.
After all the gloom & doom I wanted to get the info out so everyone could relax a little.
Being on TV, I can guarantee Beamer pivoted dramatically from closed scrimmages as to not give away too much. He's VERY concerned with that kind of thing. I'm sure the last closed scrimmage was a much more accurate depiction of where our O is. So, thank you for the feedback middleguard.
Beamer wants Bama to have to look at every video that there is of Auburn, Temple, Stanford, VT, Etc....That BAMA team is already Really, Really good...we don't need to give them any help in the film room. We will need any advantage that we can create. Imagine if you had to watch that much as a coach and/or player...you really would not be able to pin point exactly what VT will do unless you get a spy. I Bet that Fall Camp will be under serious lock down for visitors/press etc. Knowing formations, plays out of formations, personnel groupings, is a big deal in narrowing down what kind of things we will run...and nothing in that spring game will be seen in ATL, it was so basic.
LOL Dejour Greene, I like that better than his real name (Der'Woun), from now on I will only refer to him a Dejour!! +1
@NomadHokie on Twitter
i didn't make it to the game and didn't see film until this a.m.
from all the comments, I was expecting a mess but frankly, it wasn't bad at all
Logan is much more accurate than he was last year...still needs to work on decision making and stop staring down receivers...both fixable. but he threw some good balls and could have gained a lot on the ground
i really like the greater variety of passing routes. this spring's vanilla was by past standards, exotic
Edmunds and my guy Facyson are going to be special
the blocking wasn't very good but could be adequate. did anyone really think it would be better than that? has anyone with any info, or any coach for that matter, indicated otherwise?
obviously a lot of people who hadn't been practicing kick returns got to try their hand at it
Jessop and Rody are better than some of the guys getting PT in c-ville
If it makes you feel any better the A-Day Game was reallllly sloppy as well.
