I'm not going to rant about my dedication to the program and school, we all have our own experiences and many of yours will drastically overshadow mine. But I am honestly losing interest in the team. I'm not going to try to describe why I feel this way but I'll tell you what I feel.
- this program is boring, Beamer is boring, I havent felt sustainable energy in years
- our offense is hopeless
- our defense has been wasted over the years
- we can't beat good teams, we lose or underperform to pathetic teams
- I'm tired of our fans saying we do more with less than most other programs, bull shit, I can come up with 10+ teams who do more with less
- I will be travelling to away games less, I expect others will too. I'm going to spare myself the embarassment of the Bama game. I wish I had not purchased Cincy tickets
- I feel like I hold myself to higher accountability in my own profession that Newsome has been held to, and probably makes more than 4x as much as me
About the same feelings I posted in another thread...Same O Same O......old and has been. My last away game for me this year !!! And I travel to about every game. No effort from Frank and his Coaches , no effert from team. Now No effert by my pocket book and support by traveling...Hate that I have gotten to this point. Maybe a WAKE-UP call for FB in his latter years would help, Who knows.
also want to say that I'm going to the Cincy game with 11 others, and none of them would be going if I didn't push for it. My entire family and social network (somewhat small) follows VT football because of my personal efforts to engage them.

I'm 1-6 on the road in the last 6 years. I give up traveling... Cinccy is in my backyard and I don't want to go.
I should've read your post before posting mine D-Block. I basically just posted something very similar and I'm afraid there are lots of us in a similar mindset.
Brought your post over because it definitely fits the theme
I just hate the "more with less" comment all together because it devalues the importance of recruiting ability imo.

Agreed. Frank stepped up and made some changes, that was great, and a step forward. But until he makes more, every season will be the same.
It's not fair to those tht support this program, financially and in general, or Frank to not put his all into being the best. He has done a lot, but he has also harnessed parts of the program, that needs to change.
Same. It's sad I wanted to go to the NOLA so bad last year, but knew what the outcome would be. Couldn't justify going.
Agree with the sentiment. My expectations for the program changed after Boise and were reinforced after Stanford. It was great to see Frank inject youth into the program with Shane and Cornell, but it's become increasing apparent that our problems on offense run right down to our schemes and techniques. Something is fundamentally wrong when a Tech OL can't convert 4th and 1 against Austin Peay or generate an ounce of push against an 0-2 Pitt team. We've had elite talent like TT and RW bailing us out over the last four years, but with those guys gone, we've reverted back to our 06-07 form. I'm completely convinced that even with elite talent, the best this regime can muster is a top 30-40 statistical O. It will take a D for the ages to beat the SEC elite with an O like that.
