Tyrod was an amazing, game changing, program saving QB. He is probably my favorite VT football player of all-time. With that said...just imagine what he would have done with a great QB coach.
I watched the 2010 ACCCG highlights again yesterday. Tyrod's performance was incredible and far and away the best performance of his career. Have heard many FSU fans agree that he put on one hell of a show.
Tyrod had a knack for making the Noles D look foolish, except the year he got hurt at the start of the game. I wonder what our boy Nova thinks of Tyrod?
Nova respects VT. He admitted he had been hating on the wrong team from the state of Virginia, and thinks the hoos are the most delusional and pathetic fanbase in all of college football.
They are... I made the mistake of going over to their site this AM. JO must be proud of that cess pool he's got going on over there. When we describe the hoos it is usually pathetic, delusional, etc... I expect some trash because we have beaten them for nine years in a row, but the amount of foul language and pure hatred towards anything VT over there is ridiculous... If those threads were over here, they would have been nuked a long time ago... Kudos to our Mods
It's amazing, but they adamantly deny the London on the hot seat reports, and I think rightfully so. They have already given up on 2013 as a throwaway year, seem hopeful for 2014 but not too sure, and think in 2015 they should turn things around. through 2014 they could finish with no bowl game in 4 of 5 seasons, string together 3 4 or 5 win seasons, and they will still be on board with London in hopes that 2015 is the year.
There will come a day when they look back at Groh as the good ol days.
UVA football has been so pathetic that they are more than willing to trade a 4-8 season or worse in London's fourth year, with at least another coming, to sign 3 or 4 good high schoolers.
Yeah. I would.
This is a good point. I never worry at all about rankings for our defensive recruits because Foster is getting guys he wants in his system and it will always work out. If we could get that on the OL, that would be awesome.
Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
I will definitely agree re: Newsome. He was a trainwreck as a D-1 offensive line coach.
But I can't agree re: Mike O'Cain. He's not in Loeffler's class as a QB coach (few are), but he definitely didn't "suck". He did a good job with both Sean Glennon and Tyrod Taylor, helping to make the latter into an NFL draft pick and the current backup QB for the Super Bowl champions.
He also took a kid with only one year of QB experience in high school and who had originally been recruited as a TE and turned him into a QB that was being seriously talked about just two years later as a Top 10 NFL draft pick.
That's not a bad body of work.
