So I have a Question for JC and Crzy... I have a feeling that if Frank doesn't HIT on these new hires, and I do believe he has 2 or 3 years to prove these were the right moves, we could be on the brink of the end of the Beamer Era..... Is this the feeling with the media, and athletic department? I love Frank and I am worried about these Hires. The last thing anyone wants at VT is to see what happen to Bowden happen to Frank. I'd prefer, that he leave on his own terms. Do you guys think that VT would push Frank out if this does not work out, or would you say that VT runs their department differently, less cut throat? If we have 8-5 or 7-6 or even worse seasons....
Most think that he is at a 3-5 yr timeframe either way (his contract is up in 2016??). If we show marked improvement but don't win the big one, I could see him possibly going for a few more years for a shot (if he thinks we're close) ... but you're looking at 5-7 yrs tops, regardless of how these coaching changes roll
I would bet on 4 myself..Barring any health issues
The answer to this question relies heavily on Weaver's status. It seems his health is, sadly, declining. Weaver's replacement could have huge implications on Beamer, but I don't think they would hire a new AD with drastically different philosophies either. Time will tell.
I would hope that we push him out if he is not getting the job done. I would think that Frank himself would want what is best for VT, and that may not include him at some point in the near future. I hope he doesnt get a chance to run his 25 years of success at VT into the ground
