I just hope we don't ruffle any feathers in the SEC. Appears we keep thumbing our nose at them. Essentially saying your our third choice behind ACC and Big whatever. If its true they wanted us last year that is huge. No conference has ever offered us a warm invitation. We had to fight like hell in the big least and acc. Now I hear we are banging our head against the door of the Big 10. Steger doesn't understand we can still reach our academic(really research) goals in a conference of peers that really value you. Come on Virginia Tech we think you have alot to offer. Uh, no thanks. I think will hang out with people who look down on us. The SEC offers great potential. Steger would find a warm reception forming research partnerships with those schools.
I am looking forward to new traditions. The Corps of Cadets bowl. Playing the Vols in bristol at the speedway. UK in the moonshiners bowl. FL and GA can have their cocktails we'll have the shine. Playing NC state has potential to celebrate our ag histories. Steger should offer an olive branch by offering the SEC space in our new research building up in Arlington. DC is where the moneys at. Maybe grow into a larger research complex representing the entire league. Contrary to popular beleif, SEC schools care about academics. Georgia and Bama are just as hungry for aau membership as we are. Thats why UNC and UVA are in play. Any opening, we got to go. Financing 50 mill will be no problem with the money pouring in with SEC network/low int rates.
I'm 36 years old. I want to spend the next (if the good lord blesses me) 40+ years of my life making kick arse road trips to SC, Auburn, Bama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Ole Miss, LSU, A&M, etc. IF it leads to divorce, then so be it!
