Wahoos247 reports there are likely to be multiple staff changes at Virginia. RB coach Mike Faragalli has already been fired.
First thought: Maybe they'd be interested in taking Billy off our hands?
Second thought: Wonder London throws a bone to one of the 'Breds coaches?
Buddy of mine says three on the way out...he claims Shawn Moore will take an administrative job, Faragalli gone, Hagens to be promoted, and he thinks Lazor is gone. Just hear say, but he is a hoo fan. Also, he claims that the replacements have been hired, but will not be announced for a while. I guess that means they are already coaching at other places.
Really? Their running backs seemed like the least of their problems
Beatty would take Lazor's place and - by most accounts - he did a decent job this year.
If London hadn't promised The Predator the starting QB job, they would have been a far better team this year.

Well, at least one staff in VA has the balls to make some changes......
Sounds like he's the scapegoat for the timeout fiasco at the end of the game. London said something about the guys in the booth, and that was him.
Sure, like the head coach shouldn't know the timeout situation???
Can we hire Lazor? In all seriousness.
Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
One staff is already done with their season. I'd wait until after the bowl to make that comment
Well, he STILL has 2 time outs left........
Have to imagine lazor is gone. heard he was pissed when london made him play sims. he was really bringing rocco along nicely, then the switching started and he lost him.(understandably so)
those types of choices by london only add to his bad coaching.
The QB rotation and the end of the game management are 2 inexplicable and inexcusable gaffes that tell me that the HC isn't competent. It's ok if it's a guy learning on the job I guess (Dabo), but London is experienced and isn't young. To then compound HIS errors and blame his booth guys on time outs, awful. You mean to tell me calling time outs is out of a head coach's hands?
This reminds me of stuff I see in the media, you have big gaffes and nobody asks the right questions, or nobody presses the issue. UVA's AD must see the pattern that London has established, he has been so focused on acquiring talent any way he can, that he is reactive and stupid in his gameday coaching.
Thats my feeling. Lazor might have been the best assistant on his staff, and yet he gets thrown under the bus.
like dabo, he is getting his hand forced
hope for our sake it doesn't turn out like Clemson did
not a bad model...crappy game day coach who can sell and recruit... then spend a but load of money of O&D assistants
not rocket science and I would expect to see some follow the Clemson model this year
They did seem to have a couple of decent running backs. Maybe it is more on Lazor than the RB coach, but UVa's rushing offense ranked 101st in the nation. That is bad. To put it in perspective, VT had one of the worst year's I've ever seen running the football. I wouldn't even say we had a running game (hell, we couldn't pick up a 3rd or 4th and short for anything), and we were still ranked 67th in rushing.
They should've used those two timeouts for London and Poindexter......both of those guys acted like children every other play.....they needed to be IN timeout for most of the game.
I'd be good with that. Lazor was mismanaged by London.
I agree on that model, get a head guy for the face of the program and hire the right assistants, then trust them and let them do their jobs.
However, Clemson was acquiring top 10 talent, they just didn't know how to use it properly. I also think Dabo isn't an ego maniac on game day, the two huge game day errors I pointed out for UVA were because of London's ways. Easier said than done, but the head guy is still in charge of big decisions, and London won't improve on that. Lazor seemed competent, could maybe use some talent, but being forced to use a QB rotation with similar QB's? Makes no sense. London is recruiting the way he knows how, do what it takes. I guess he's honest, because he plays everyone right away.
Wonder what Smoke things about the firing of the RB coach..would figure that he had a decent relationship if not better with his position coach
Wont matter, he is a mail order recruit for uva courtesy of godfather.inc shipping department, all shipping labels have a uva address when possible.. tic-sorta
Most likely this will be correct.
take 1/2 of LT's rushing numbers out and were do we rank?
The new hires will tell us who is calling the shots in cville. If it is a couple of recruiter types London is hedging his career on loading a class in 14 so he can't be removed or "risk losing" a great class, they will not be good in 13, and people that matter are already very unimpressed. If he hires actual coaches they are doing the smart thing, but is he making that call or someone else?
Hagans could be a thorn in our side in Peninsula District, but has been a GA for two years I think. I don't see Beatty to UVA as he's making $ 400,000/year at Illinois. I'd expect London to tripple down on his 757 recruiting and add someone with ties and/or promote Hagans. London dowsn't have to get the Hoos to an ACCCG or a BCS game, but he has to beat VT.
