Regardless of whats been said, I've never gotten the warm and fuzzies on him. His favorite staff is Michigan's vs. favorite recruiter in Bud. That just doesn't sound good for us but I guess we'll see.
I'm thinking he'll get it over with before his season starts and he'll be a Hokie by the end of Summer... just an uninformed guess.
I agree with that. I also dont think a tshirt will significantly affect his recruitment

I very rarely am optimistic about the recruitment of the 5 stars, but for some reason I have always gotten a good feeling about Hand. Obviously I have no inside info, but the vibe seems good. It bodes well for us that he knows Wyatt and Mihota and is a really smart kid. Doesn't seem like he will be swayed by girls, money, the bright lights etc. Hopefully Wyatt can convince him to stay home and rep the state of VA. I think our '13 and moreso '14 classes could be the basis for a legitimate title run.....
I do on this one. Teller and Mihota helps. You never know!
I feel Michigan is our biggest threat...he likes the coaches....it is a very good academic institution.....BUT at the end of the day I think this time the good guys win out on this one....something just tells me he will be in O&M when all is said and done....
Guess you hear and see things differently than I do, I feel very good about our chances, no lock for sure but we have a very legit shot
I get the vibe staying close to home is going to factor in.
I will never be optimistic about a talent like Hand. However, outside of 5*s with family connections to VT, I probably feel better about Hand than the rest. Would lose my mind if he chose the Hokies.
That said, I still don't think we have a greater than 45% chance at him, but I'll take those odds on a player of that caliber.

Yeah, I'm not worried about some rando from Ohio outselling, Teller and the other big boys for VT.
I think our new staff guys are going to give Hand something to think about when it comes to overall staff. Grimes, Leoffler and Moorehead are are cerebral guys that are young and focused and I think Hand will vibe off that. Combine that with our D coaches Foster, TG, Wiles and Cornell and I don't think Michigan's staff is going to seem any more polished or personalble than outs. Michigan offers a lot, but VT offers every bit as much and we are his home state.
I feel very good because DH is a smart kid and he will make the smart decision and that is VT.
Yeah. If anything DH will see that at VT he knows the guys that are trying to get him to come ball with them, but at Michigan kids he doesn't know are pushing him to commit. Kinda just adds to the homefield advantage we enjoy.
Hokiepriest I have always thought highly of your posts but I down voted your post about Gayle because I don't think it's right to diss our players on this board. These posts are read by any number of people and I don't feel it serves a good purpose to do this.
Hand is a smart young man( check out his interviews). He knows that we have a very sincere need for him at Tech and that we want him here with us.
I lived in the southeastern Michigan -northwestern Ohio area for many decades. Went to many Michigan games and it was a very good experience but nothing I have seen anywhere compares to a game in the land of the Hokies. From the second our team starts to come onto the field until after the last snap of the game it is absolutely eelectrifying.
