I do agree that court storming is getting out of hand and presents many safety concerns, I'm incredibly annoyed that it took Coach K crying to get the ACC to act on it. The SEC has had rules in places for years and people have been storming courts in the ACC for the past 60 years.
The ACC is expected to discuss the safety of court-storming and whether an SEC-like penalty structure is warranted when the conference holds its spring meetings in May, at least one athletic director told ESPN.com Friday.
They said teams storm the court over 80%+ against Duke last night during the UVA game (not sure how many years that data went back). Coach K is a bit of a whiner, but I guess at this point he's just getting old and tired of pushing through the crowds, so he's trying to get the ACC to act.
I don't blame him really.. its not that big of a deal anymore beating a top 5 or 10 team.they said teams ranked in the top 5 last month lost a total of 14 times...
I don't think it's whining at all. I've seen fans just lose their minds after games, especially when it's a heated rival (one trip to Morgantown, albeit for football, was enough for me).
If we were in Duke's shoes (would have been awesome) and UVa beat us on their home court...I don't know if all those UVa fans could resist taking a cheap shot at one of our players (this has nothing to do with UVa specifically...just trying to portray the sense of a heated rivalry). Can you imagine if someone hurt Green right before the tourney? There would be no way to make up for that lost year if that happened. That doesn't even cover the possibility of someone accidentally getting injured after a game.
While I do think that Coach K complains a lot when his team loses, I think this is a perfectly valid point. If nothing happens, I could see teams start going to the locker room early to avoid a potential court rushing.
The security was clearly there to protect Dooks players and coaches Coach K needs to quit crying and let the kids have their fun. That man is the biggest baby in all of Bball and is so used to getting what he wants he's like a spoiled child.

Watch the damn video post game of Puke players walking calmly and untouched off the floor at JPG. They were protected by a cordone of security. I watched every second of that game. Puke players were never in danger of being pistol-whipped by the crowd. The Ferret is a foul-mouthed hypocrite, who acts like a bloody child. The next time, whenever that might be, that we have a huge win over a highly ranked team remember to stand politely and clap like gentlemen. You can't do anymore than that. Be respectful.
