That shouldn't surprise anyone, you play well you pass, that's all it takes at Ole Miss, like a lot of other schools, and 13 of the 13 SEC schools. They should all graduate, with the majors they have, the "tutors", academic advisors, and everything else. They're essentially handed a grade.
Powe, Oher, Massie, among others were some of the worst students ever, and all ended up at Ole Miss.
It wasnt but 3 years ago Ole Miss was one of only 2 BCS programs to be docked scholarships for piss poor APR.
Ole Miss is a fun school, loaded with hot women, but it is far from an academic juggernaut.
Agree that VT is a better overall academic school (but OleMiss is better in a few Majors - accounting, English/journalism to name a few).
However, most of us hate it when UVA, Duke, WF, etc play the academic card against VT yet many VT fans do the same thing with regards to WVU, OleMiss, etc.
We just end up sounding like a bunch of UVA academic snobs. Just my opinion of course.
and academically deficient inner city and rural students can also find their way to VT
is that proof of anything? Its a big leap to use that as an indicator of something untoward taking place.
If Ole Miss was cheating and handing out grades to football players, , wouldn't they have had a stellar APR?
