for either the Browns or Eagles. If true, does DeSean Hamilton likely switch to VT?
Can't blame O'Brien for leaving especially since it seems he was misled by the coming sanctions, but it really sucks for the players that could have left last summer and stayed. The Hamilton recruitment always seemed strange, as VT always thought they were in good shape, but his comments never gave me the warm and fuzzies. Not sure if there is room for him if he wants to come.
I'm hoping the new coordinator would have some imput on any additional offers made if the offers on the table do not materialize.
There top QB recruit too...is it Hackenburg...something like that?
Yeah .. Hackenberg was very much on the fence there for a bit. If O'Brien leaves, I'd think that there's a VERY good chance that Hackenberg goes elsewhere.
Not sure about Hamilton. I'd have to think that we're in the mix but so was Miami and Illinois
How about this? We get Pep .. We steal their star TE recruit (Breneman)
I also saw on twitter today that players still have the ability to transfer at any time without penalty.
I've read O'Brien has a huge buyout in his contract, like $9 Million. Not sure which NFL team would be willing to pay that if true...
I've heard that he would probably use the notion that he was misled about sanctions to get out of/work down the buyout.
Yea but it's said that he was misled about the legal situation at PSU, and can they possibly sue someone for wanting out of there? I just can't see that as something they can do with the PR they already have, especially if they did mislead him, or it even sound like they might possibly have not been 100% wide open with BOB
There was a media report stating that PSU told him that the Sandusky situation was only a criminal investigation and would not involve the NCAA. That is where he felt misled.
PSU kids still are eligible to transfer at no penalty for another 7 or 8 months or so. I would imagine O'Brien leaving would cause some kids to jump.
Where are you seeing that this is being reported? I don't see this on cbssports.com or anywhere else...?
I saw it on twitter too (Feldman retweeted it). Found this link.
Lots swirling on the nfl and NCAA coaching fronts, hard to know what is fact or fiction.
