Subject: The game will get a lot of attention nationally

It's going to help with recruiting. It's going to help with player preparation.
And it's going to help them understand the level necessary to compete with
high level teams. I just hope we can keep it competitive. We played USC in
LA and damn near beat them. I believe we have better talent, albeit young,
right now. And maybe having them early is a good thing, before that offense
has time to start clicking on all cylinders.
It's going to be an exciting game for fans, players and recruits.

He really said they have better talent?

Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
Almost beating them must equal scoring a TD with 4 seconds left to pull within 3.
Over/under 1 min of game play before Oregon scores a TD on UVA
If UVA has more talent than Oregon, then that officially makes London the worst coach in America.
Nice pics. #4 has been good to us.
If by track meet you mean Usain Bolt vs. me, than yes it will be a track meet.
Eddie and David are two of my all-time favorite Hokies. I'm hoping JC can keep the #4 tradition going.
Another good one is the #1....maybe I'll do that for my next sig. (I have a short attention span with sig pictures)
Just use your timeouts to ice Mr. Bolt. It's a solid strategy.
If he meant that we have better talent than when we played USC then i agree. And i agree its better to get them early. Most likely we get blown out which doesnt help recruiting but in the very unlikely choice we keep it close then it could be a big boost. And before i get attacked im anticipating a 52 to 20 type game thats never close but theres always a slimmer of hope that we keep it closer. Im glad we didnt schedule a cupcake but i would much rather play a missouri or tennessee type team that is respectable but gives us a shot at winning.
Fair post. This O them has more weapons than any team I can remember and they speard the field and tie advantage of the weakness. Much like a GT did vs you, they will find the HR pitch and hit it, a lot.
Some of the recent decisions by UVA's athletic department have been pretty mind-boggling. Instead of giving Coach London a chance against a mediocre non-BCS team, you bring in Oregon. UVA has about a 5% chance of beating Oregon going by the book. So, with Oregon, BYU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, UNC, Miami, and Virginia Tech all on the schedule, you really have to hope that you win out against Maryland, VMI, Duke, Pitt, and whoever your 4th OOC opponent is just to have a chance to go to a bowl.
I think UVA could honestly take a step forward this year but still finish with a 3-9 record.
great sig. +1
Agreed...the big debate that's been going on our board since the Oregon game was announced is whether it was a good idea. I personally think it's a terrible idea for this year but like I said I would rather play Oregon than another FCS team or some awful directional school. But I just don't understand why it had to be Oregon to replace PSU...admittedly I don't know what other teams' schedules look like but there had to be a middle tier BCS team that would be a respectable opponent that we would actually have a shot at winning. The biggest thing though and IMO the bottom line is that London needs wins and he needs wins now...this is arguably the most important year of recruiting in the history of UVA football with the amount of talent in state and not going to a bowl will really hurt.
One of the things I've always enjoyed bashing you all for is your cupcake scheduling which has definitely not been nearly as bad for 4 out of the last 5 years but I say that because I don't want to be hypocritical. I'm not against playing Oregon at all...I'm just against playing Oregon THIS year.
