until the end of the week. If they announce today or tomorrow, it will get washed out by the national championship. Thursday would be good as noise would be down from the NC game and before all the NFL talk on Friday. Probably thinking too much into into it, but would like to make as much noise with the change as possible and was thinking later in the week would actually be better.
With all that said, not sure I can stand it much longer.
Agreed. Also,, interesting that they schedule the coaches convention during the Championship game.
I disagree; as soon as the details are set, they should announce it IMO. We need to give Logan in particular as much time as possible to make an informed decision about whether he's going to stick around.
I just hope they wait until after 5pm today. I don't want to be crying tears of joy in the middle of the office.
It won't get washed out for Hokies, regardless of what's on TV...
Yea I know.. All production would be lost and youtube would be a hot search item for Hokie fans.
I gotta believe that Logan will know before any of us yahoos on this message board does....or IMO he ought to...

I don't think ESPN will be reporting on offensive staff changes for VT. It will get a mention on local news stations for a couple of days.
And if they wait until later in the week, there is this small event happening this weekend called the NFL Divisional Playoffs.
Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
We need to get it done and announced so that we can get meetings lined up with our commitments sooner rather than later. This is not a "national" story it will be big for Virginia markets and wherever the coach is leaving from.
They need to get it done sooner rather than the later so the OC can get in Logan's ear about why it is beneficial for him to come back for his senior year.
I just want them to take the time to talk to all realistic applicants. If that takes us until Friday, so be it.
If Bama wins, I could see the hype not being as big, since the SEC has won again.
If ND wins, it'll be weeks before we hear the end of it.
It might get some national play if it was announced today and if it was a high profile person such as Pep. I could see it being briefly mentioned during the game and possibly discussed at half time. Also,I could see it being posted on ESPN`s bottom line. It wouldn`t be so much that it is VT,but because someone like Pep moving from Stanford to VT might spark some discussion.
You'd be surprised about that. I work with a player's Dad and there's been a lot of instences where I've heard of something before he has.
That said, with Logan being the QB, I'd have to think he's going to get the information he needs to make a decision.
Nah, college assistant moves typically only get local media play. The MNC wouldn't wash it out locally, and the National Media wouldn't care much. ESPN might put it on their Bottom Line or something.
If the deal is done, get it announced ASAP. There is A LOT of work to be done, and the sooner they get to it the better. The new OC has to get here, get settled, speak to the players, evaluate and hire new staff, get on the phone with current recruits, start evaluating next years recruits, etc.
Pep is the man so says Twitter.
I disagree with you guys. If we hire Pep (which I've heard is the case from sources, not this board), then it will be a national story. That's how good of a hire it is. Leading up to the Rose Bowl, Shaw and he were getting play on ESPN. When you have guys being considered for NFL positions at a high profile school, it's a whole other level of exposure. And the fact that we never make changes, with Frank being a legend, and us being a nationally recognized program, I think it does get national play.
We hire Malone or another O'Cain/Stiney level of OC, then it definitely goes completely under the radar nationally.

Want to link the twitter stuff for the people who are not fellow twatters?
you da man Casual 1
I agree with Platinum. either way, you want the best opportunity for the change to be discussed. I bet College Football live would talk about it a bunch on the show.
Also, school doesn't start until the 21st so team is not in town, and I believe we are in a quiet period for recruiting.(could be wrong about the quiet period)
hey now JBC, this is a family board
Where, I don't see it
Oh is that not the proper way to say that?
Me neither. Just checked and don't see anything that seems like fresh info since the flurry yesterday afternoon.
