Not reassigned, but out of our program, period.
I know the players love him. I know he's a great recruiter. He's arguably a decent position coach as well. However; these are things that we would unfortunately have to sacrifice if we truly want to see an improved VT offense as donors and a fanbase.
Stiney has been the OC at VT for 10 years now, and to think that he could be delegated to an offensive position coach/recruiting coordinator is crazy talk. If we bring in "new blood" as our OC yet maintain most of our offensive staff we will just see more of the same, and I highly doubt our offense would be consistently improved.
If we keep our old guys of the current offensive regime then whoever comes in will just be undermined. Constantly. This is human nature, there is a comfort zone and even if our old guys had the most open mind towards the new guy, they wouldn't be able to fully adjust and buy-in. This is something would be hard for ANYONE – no matter how open-minded they want to be. Again, human nature is something we can't ignore.
The current guys have strong relationships formed with Frank, and levels of trust that a new guy will not be able to overcome with the old staff currently around. We've seen this happen to excellent offensive minds before (Clawsen at UT, Franklin at Auburn to name a couple off the top of my head). Additionally (and probably to a lesser extent), there may be a completely new coaching style come in, not just technique, but maybe personalities that have proven to work well together in order to build a successful offense in the past.
If Frank is not committed to a highly improved offense then I don’t want to see many changes made. The only way I could see a new OC at VT with only 1/2 of “his guys” being successful is if he ran another Stiney/O’Cain type of offense. No thanks, imo.
Also - Worsham field/Lane Stadium need to go ahead and file that restraining order they’ve been considering on Billy Hite. Great guy, love having him around the program, but hate having him on the sidelines and being a coach.

THE ONLY THING I'M ADDICTED TO IS WINNING--CHARLIE SHEEN
Welcome to the Terror Dome, baby! Welcome to the Terror Dome!
No, you are not.
I'm sure there are many people who would like to see Stiney fired. If he is demoted then I will tell you from many years experience that it offtimes does not work out. There are ,however cases where it works out just fine. It really dependes on the individual and how he views himself, his peers, and the person he works for.
I have a strong suspicsion that Stiney would handle a demotion from Frank Beamer quite well and would continue to give his new position every thing he's got. He knows how to coach imo and God knows everyone knows that he can recruit.
